Book Return is an elite level 6 quest from Marshal Dughan in Goldshire, and it’s the seventh step of Northshire’s new library chain in WoW Forever. You find 6 Lost Books and the picture book “Fun with Elementals” in the Fargodeep Mine, south of Goldshire. The Lost Books are in the mine with the kobolds that took them, and Fun with Elementals drops from Nimsy, a named kobold in a room up the stairs on the east side with his henchmen. The reward is 680 XP, 2 silver 50 copper, a 6-slot Book Bag and 100 Stormwind reputation.
The quest is marked elite for a reason. Dughan warns that the depths of the mine are dangerous and tells you to bring friends, and Nimsy’s room is hard to solo at the level the quest is meant for. It can’t be shared, so everyone in your group needs to pick it up from Dughan.

Where Book Return fits in the library chain
The chain starts in Northshire, when a Kobold Vermin drops the Nibbled-On Book. Brother Paxton’s library has been raided by kobolds, and the quests follow the thieves out of the valley. Book Return picks up straight after Shhh! We’re Hunting Kobolds, which you also hand in to Marshal Dughan.

The last step, Rare Books, gives a choice of profession manuals, including Mining for Dummies and Skinning and Herbalism versions, each of which teaches that gathering profession up to skill 15.
In particular, Paxton is very concerned about a book titled, “Fun with Elementals”. He thinks even a kobold could use it to summon an elemental servant. Be warned, the depths of the mine are fairly dangerous. You should bring friends.

Fun with Elementals drops from Nimsy. The mine has another named kobold, Goldtooth, who doesn’t have the book. Use the top entrance of the Fargodeep Mine, cross to the large room inside, then go east and curve north up the stairs. Nimsy is at the top with a group of henchmen.
The Lost Books drop from the Kobold Miners and Kobold Tunnelers in the mine, and only Nimsy drops Fun with Elementals, so you need to clear your way to his room either way.

Take Book Return from Marshal Dughan
He’s in Goldshire. He gives you a Book Bag to carry the books in.
Group up
The quest isn’t shareable, so everyone in the party needs it from Dughan before you set off.
Enter Fargodeep Mine by the top entrance
The mine is south of Goldshire. Take the upper entrance and make your way to the large central room.
Collect the 6 Lost Books
Clear through the kobolds in the mine and pick up the Lost Books as you go.
Kill Nimsy for Fun with Elementals
From the large room go east, then north up the stairs. Clear his henchmen before you pull him if you can.
Return to Marshal Dughan
Hand the books in at Goldshire for 680 XP and the 6-slot Book Bag, then take Rare Books.
The 6-slot Book Bag reward
The Book Bag you get at the end is a real 6-slot bag, item level 5 and bind on pickup, so it goes straight into one of your bag slots. It’s a different item from the Book Bag Dughan gives you at the start, which is only there to carry the books. That one stays in your bags after the quest and doesn’t seem to have any later use, so you can delete it.

It drops from Nimsy, a named kobold in the Fargodeep Mine south of Goldshire. Take the top entrance, go through the large room, then east and north up the stairs to find him with his henchmen.
Does Goldtooth drop Fun with Elementals?
Goldtooth is the other named kobold in Fargodeep Mine, but the book comes from Nimsy. If you killed Goldtooth and got nothing, head up the stairs on the east side.
