Multiple players report finding at least one Very Comfortable Pillow here on every run, with some raids yielding two pillows from these containers alone. You can approach the Red Tower from the rooftops, climb up the stairs from inside the building, or use a zipline from ground level to reach the ledge quickly.
Inside the Red Tower, check the red lockers, which also have elevated spawn rates. If you have the Security Breach skill, there is a back safe that can contain additional pillows. One player reported getting two Very Comfortable Pillows in a single run from the Red Tower, finding one in a red locker, one on a couch, and another in a corner container.
The Red Tower is a high-traffic area. If you consistently find the white containers already looted, try spawning at different times or use the Testing Annex on Dam Battlegrounds as a backup. The Eastern Station extraction is conveniently close for quick farming runs.
Beyond the Red Tower, Grandioso Apartments in the southwest offers excellent pillow farming with multiple floors of bedrooms and dresser tops to search. The Hospital has red lockers on the ground floor that can spawn pillows. Plaza Rosa is another strong option, particularly the second and third floors above the pharmacy where dresser drawers are plentiful.
Dam Battlegrounds
Dam Battlegrounds contributes 22% of Very Comfortable Pillow finds. The Testing Annex is the standout location on this map, marked as a Commercial area on your map. If you spawn on the eastern half of Dam Battlegrounds, skip the scattered apartments and head directly to the Testing Annex for the most efficient farming.

This location tends to be less contested than the Red Tower in Buried City, making it an excellent alternative when you need a safer farming run.
The Pattern House on the northwestern side of Generator Hall, east of the Broken Bridge, offers another farming spot. Check the offices on the second floor for potential pillow spawns. Residential apartment blocks scattered across the map also have a chance to spawn pillows, though the Testing Annex remains the most reliable Dam Battlegrounds location.
Blue Gate
Blue Gate accounts for 6% of pillow finds. The Northwest Village is a dense residential zone where pillows can spawn on shelves inside living rooms. Check the rusty crates outside houses as well, as they have surprisingly decent drop rates for residential items including pillows.

The Spaceport also contributes 6% of pillow spawns. The Arrival Building basement contains a makeshift medical station that has been fruitful for players seeking pillows. Access this area through a pair of breachable doors. While not the primary farming destination, it is worth checking if you are already running Spaceport missions.

While most of Stella Montis is not likely to spawn any Very Comfortable Pillows, I’ve personally found some in the suitcases, and so I’d like to put it here, though most players do not recommend searching them for entire runs in hopes of obtaining one, as they are relatively rare and much more likely in residential areas of other maps.
They are relatively spread out, and the chance of spawning Pillows is lower, so it’s not generally worth it.
Riven Tides
Riven Tides has very few reported Very Comfortable Pillow finds. The Residential loot on Riven Tides sits in Hotel Panorama Azzurro and Azzurro Beach. Hotel Panorama Azzurro is a high-threat area, so expect ARC and other players. Not worth a dedicated run; pick them up if you’re there for something else.

These zones are marked on your map with a silhouette of a person and two arrows pointing in opposite directions. Look for apartments, shops, and any interior spaces with furniture like sofas, beds, and shelving units.
Alternatively, they can be found in suitcases in Stella Montis, where I’ve personally had most luck – though be aware that Stella Montis is generally a high-risk map due to high PvP.
Which containers to check
According to community loot data, 64% of all Very Comfortable Pillow spawns come from Standard Containers, which includes white plastic containers, cabinets, and dressers. Lockers account for 27% of spawns, with red lockers being particularly reliable. Breachable Containers contribute the remaining 9%. Prioritize standard containers and lockers in Residential and Commercial zones for the best results.

The Very Comfortable Pillow is classified as an Uncommon Trinket in Arc Raiders. The in-game description reads: “The envy of every Raider. Like sleeping on an especially ergonomic cloud.” Each pillow weighs 0.3 kg, stacks up to 3, and sells for 2,000 Raider Coins at vendors.
As both a Residential and Commercial item, Very Comfortable Pillows can spawn in a variety of interior locations. They appear in containers like dressers, cabinets, lockers, and occasionally sitting openly on furniture like couches. The dual classification means they can appear in both apartment buildings and commercial shops.
Why You Need Very Comfortable Pillows
Very Comfortable Pillows serve one critical purpose in Arc Raiders: upgrading your companion Scrappy the Rooster to his maximum level.
Scrappy Level 5 Upgrade
The primary use of Very Comfortable Pillows is the Scrappy Level 5 upgrade, which is the maximum level for your rooster companion. You need exactly 3 Very Comfortable Pillows, along with 12 Mushrooms and 12 Apricots, to complete this upgrade. Once upgraded to Level 5, Scrappy becomes a Master Hoarder and significantly increases the supplies he collects while you are out exploring topside.
Given their Uncommon rarity and specific spawn locations, Very Comfortable Pillows should be prioritized for the Scrappy upgrade. Do not sell or salvage any pillows until you have gathered the 3 required for this upgrade. Some players forget and accidentally sell their pillows, forcing them to farm more.
Sell Value
Very Comfortable Pillows sell for 2,000 Raider Coins each. While this is a decent amount, the value of upgrading Scrappy to Level 5 far exceeds the coin value you would get from selling. Only sell extra pillows after you have completed the Scrappy Level 5 upgrade.
Tips For Farming Very Comfortable Pillows
Very Comfortable Pillows stack to 3, and each weighs only 0.3 kg. This light weight makes them easy to carry without sacrificing space for other loot. A dedicated farming run to the Red Tower can yield 1 to 2 pillows per raid if you reach the location before other players.
Two map conditions put extra Trinkets on the ground. Bird City on Buried City raises the number of Trinkets across the map, and Beachcombing on Riven Tides buries Trinkets and small finds in the sand for you to dig up with a Dockmaster’s Detector. If either one is active, it’s worth a run for Very Comfortable Pillows.
- Bird CityFlocks of birds have been spotted around Buried City, gathering around chimneys for what many assume to be nefarious reasons.
- BeachcombingScouts have discovered a variety of trinkets and small finds buried in the sands around Riven Tides, along with a few less welcome things. Raiders are encouraged to use a Dockmaster’s Detector to uncover them.
The moment you find a Very Comfortable Pillow, put it in your Safe Pocket immediately. Even if you die, items in your Safe Pocket are protected and will count toward your Scrappy upgrade. Do not risk extracting with pillows in your main backpack where you could lose them to other Raiders or ARC enemies.
Run multiple short raids rather than one long expedition. Hit the Red Tower on Buried City, grab your pillows from the white plastic containers, and extract quickly via Eastern Station. The spawns refresh each raid, making quick targeted runs more efficient than full map exploration. If the Red Tower is contested, queue for Dam Battlegrounds and head to the Testing Annex instead.
If the Lush Blooms world event is active, use it to farm Mushrooms and Apricots at the same time as pillows. Look for fruit baskets spawning around the map. This way you can gather all Scrappy Level 5 upgrade materials in combined runs.
Expect 2 to 3 runs to gather the 3 Very Comfortable Pillows needed for Scrappy Level 5. With consistent farming at the Red Tower or Testing Annex, you should complete the upgrade requirement relatively quickly. Be aware that the Red Tower is high traffic, so arriving early or having backup locations planned will improve your success rate.
Be careful around the Red Tower area. A Bombardier or Leaper often patrols the streets below. Approach from the rooftops or use ziplines to avoid unnecessary ARC encounters.
