The achievement titled ‘Most Durable Pants in Speranza’ requires players to slide a total distance of 80 meters without stopping. In this guide, we will cover the best strategies for completing this achievement, highlight common mistakes players make, and provide tips to avoid them.

Where to do the 80m Slide

Dam Battlegrounds

The definite winner for doing this challenge is in Dam Battlegrounds, due to its’ enormous Floodgate Dam providing plenty of ramps that Raiders can slide down (and get this achievement). Though they’re seemingly just short of 80m, so some sliding on flat ground may be required, which most players miss.

As always, look out for ARC patrollers like Hornets, Wasps, and Snitches, who frequent the Dam. (and other pesky PvP Players). They can end a run quickly. There is a lack of cover, so they’re best dealt with first before attempts.

There are 2 places on the Floodgate that players recommend.

Position 1 (Personal favourite): Head south of the Power Generation Complex structure, past a building, and look for a ledge visible from the top.

Slide from the start of the red arrow, and keep sliding until you get the achievement (Yes, slide on flat ground for a bit as well.)

You’ll want to slide adjacent to this ledge. The physics here work in your favor; the ARC Raiders’ momentum system can be a little off at times, which actually helps. The initial deep slope carries you most of the 80 meters, and that momentum lets you slide a few extra meters on flat ground before hitting a second small ledge that adds the remaining distance needed.

Line up the start of your slide with the bottom ledge. This ledge will give you the extra boost needed to cover over 80m

To get back to the top, use the dirt terrain path to the left of the marked route.

Position 2: Head North of the Control Tower structure, next to a ladder that drops. (Don’t go down the ladder, it’s a trap)

Slide from the start of the red arrow, and keep sliding until you touch the Rock. This should mark 80m

The opposite side of the dam, on the southernmost section of the Floodgate. There’s a noticeable rock here that players use as a reference point; touching this rock marks roughly 80 meters. This position is slightly more challenging to climb back up, and tends to be easier to fail if you start the slide slightly too late.

Go through the Entrance, and follow the path until you find a way to get onto the ramp from there

This one is harder to do, as you’re limited to a rock at the end, so you have to start the ramp slide early enough to reach 80m.

Other Maps

Bluegate – Going to the top of the Mountain Base while it is raining, this method may require some points in the Slip and Slide Skill.

Theoretically, this should be possible on more maps, though Raiders haven’t reported any success outside those three locations.

How to slide 80m without stopping

Players may struggle to stay in the slide for the entire 80 meters, which is where these tips come in handy:

Controls

Start the Slide, then hold ONLY Crouch and Forwards (C and W).

Running to start the slide will carry more momentum, which means more distance.

Once sliding, hold the crouch button (Default crouch key is C) – and hold W. Pressing A S D slows the slide down, and may even stop the slide altogether.

Let go of Shift / the Sprint Key – the game thinks you are trying to run, i.e., stand up and stop sliding. This doesn’t translate well, and so, let go of the Sprint Key for the entire duration of the slide as soon as you begin the slide.

Once you hit the bottom, do not stop sliding and holding W – this is a significant mistake a lot of players make, as the flat final stretch is what brings the slide to over 80 meters.

Tips

If your player stands up / does a slight animation outside of sliding, the attempt has failed, as this means the slide has been broken. The ramp is barely 80m, so the entire slide needs to be perfect to win the achievement.

Falling animation is not a slide; it can look like a slide, but it doesn’t count.

Ensure you clear the area of ARC first, from the top where you have ample cover, as the slope itself has barely any, and you’ll be clutching at straws to avoid ARC fire as the cover is very little and rarer.

You can’t fully guarantee that no PvP will happen. The Dam is a large area with relatively heavy foot traffic, so be aware of your surroundings and pause your attempts until you kill them, confirm peace truces, or hide until they leave the area.

Some players report that changing the Crouch setting from ‘Toggle’ to ‘Hold’ Helped them achieve this more easily – personally, I was able to do this without changing the settings.

Weapons can hurt momentum. Press ‘H’ to put your guns away before starting the slide.

Make sure you have sufficient Stamina; you use some during slides.

It is normal for this to take multiple attempts.

Skill Tree

No additional perks in the Skill Tree are needed, though there is a skill that wouldn’t hurt to have, as this is a mobility skill that helps with momentum. Players have said they managed without.

Mobility

No additional perks in the Skill Tree are needed. However, having a few points in ‘Slip and Slide‘ in the Mobility Tree would most likely help reduce the difficulty, as it says it allows Raiders to ‘Slide further and faster‘, meaning momentum would carry farther, making the 80 meters easier to achieve. This is not needed, according to multiple users who have done the achievement without putting points into Slip and Slide; though, it can’t hurt.

It is the second skill in the Mobility Tree and is one of the recommended skills to have anyway, so we’d recommend getting this for general gameplay as well.

Though I’d had to slide past the ledge for my 80m, this is a good demonstration of where to start and how to act during the slide to stay in the correct animation and successfully obtain the Most Durable Pants in Speranza Steam Trophy.

Thomas has been writing game guides for over a year, covering whatever he's currently sunk into. He doesn't write about anything he hasn't actually played, which usually isn't a problem since he plays too much of everything anyway. Rocket League ate enough of his life to get him to Grand Champion, and he's got several max-level, fully geared characters sitting in World of Warcraft from various binges over the years. Recent obsessions include ARC Raiders, Battlefield, For Honor, and Rainbow Six Siege, with plenty of others in rotation. He's also worked behind the scenes for a well-known gaming creator on video production and editorial pieces, so the guides here are shaped as much by that side of the industry as by the hours logged in-game. Every tip, build, and location in his guides comes from his own playthroughs. If he hasn't tested it, it doesn't get published.
