This guide covers all the best Cat Bed farming locations across every map, how to identify potential spawns, and tips for maximizing your finds so you can upgrade Scrappy as quickly as possible.

⚔️

Where Are Cat Beds Found

Cat Beds spawn in Residential and Commercial areas across all maps. These locations are marked on the map with a person icon (Residential) or two Arrows icon (Commercial), making them easy to identify before you deploy.

Cat Bed Found on a Residential Kitchen Table, inside a house in the south of Buried City

Once inside a Residential or Commercial building, check shelves, cabinets, and containers for Cat Bed spawns. They often appear inside lockers and standard containers.

Locations with either or both ‘Commercial’ and ‘Residential’ have a chance to spawn the cat bed trinket

Unlike mechanical or electrical items that spawn near specific equipment, Cat Beds appear in everyday living spaces. Look for apartment buildings, houses, and offices with visible interior furnishings.

Buried City

Buried City is the best map for Cat Bed farming according to community loot data, accounting for 60% of all reported finds. The map is dense with Residential and Commercial areas, allowing you to hit multiple spawn points in a single run.

Plaza Rosa is a standout location with multiple Residential buildings clustered together. Search the shelves, lockers, and containers inside each apartment. Many players report consistent Cat Bed spawns in this area.

Santa Maria Houses in the south/southeastern portion of the map offers another reliable farming spot. These Residential POIs share the same loot tables and frequently contain Cat Beds on shelving units and inside cabinets.

Piaza Arbusto and the Grando Apartments round out the best farming zones. The pharmacy near the plaza may also have Cat Beds on its shelves, so check Commercial buildings as well as Residential ones.

Dam Battlegrounds

Dam Battlegrounds accounts for 20% of Cat Bed finds. The Pale Apartments and

Ruby Residence in the northwestern part of the map are your primary destinations.

Since these spots are not marked as major points of interest, you are less likely to face heavy competition from other players. Search cabinets, containers, and shelves inside the apartment buildings.

Dam Battlegrounds requires less running between the two areas compared to Buried City, but overall has a lower chance of finding the Cat Bed. Use this map as a backup if Buried City is too crowded or if you want to combine Cat Bed farming with other objectives.

Blue Gate

While community-tracking data shows minimal Cat Bed finds on Blue Gate, several content creators highly recommend the Village in the map’s northwestern portion. This area contains multiple apartment buildings clustered together.

The Village offers consistent spawns according to player reports, with some claiming to find at least one Cat Bed nearly every run. Be aware that a Rocketeer enemy likes to roam around this area, so approach with caution.

The discrepancy between community data and player recommendations may be due to fewer people farming Blue Gate overall. If Buried City feels too contested, Blue Gate Village is worth trying.

The Spaceport

The Spaceport accounts for 20% of Cat Bed finds in community data. Look for Residential and Commercial POIs marked with the person or shopping bag icons on your map.

This map can serve as an alternative to Buried City if you prefer its layout or need to complete other objectives there. The same looting principles apply: check shelves, lockers, and containers in Residential buildings.

Stella Montis

Stella Montis shows minimal Cat Bed finds in community tracking data, but the map does contain Residential and Commercial spawn points. The facility layout makes farming less efficient compared to open-world maps.

Focus on the Medical Research area on the left side and Cultural Archives on the right if you need to farm Cat Beds here. The Atrium area in the center also contains spawn points worth checking.

Unless you have specific objectives on Stella Montis, we recommend farming Buried City or Blue Gate instead for better Cat Bed yields.

Riven Tides

Riven Tides has very few reported Cat Bed finds. The Residential loot on Riven Tides sits in Hotel Panorama Azzurro and Azzurro Beach. Hotel Panorama Azzurro is a high-threat area, so expect ARC and other players. Not worth a dedicated run; pick them up if you’re there for something else.

Pendola Pass

Pendola Pass only arrived with the latest update, so reports are still thin. The game’s loot data fills the gap. The Residential loot on Pendola Pass sits in Old Town and Researcher Lodgings. Old Town is a medium-threat area, so it’s busy but manageable.

What Do the Stats Tell Us

Buried City accounts for 60% of all Cat Bed finds, making it the dominant farming map. Dam Battlegrounds and The Spaceport each contribute 20%, while Blue Gate and Stella Montis report minimal finds in community tracking data. (This is due to limited data most likely)

Cat Bed Which maps have most reported Cat Bed finds
Best Farming Locations
Buried City 60%
Dam Battlegrounds 20%
The Spaceport 20%

According to community loot data, 50% of all Cat Beds are found in standard desks drawers / filing cabinet containers and 50% in lockers. Prioritize these container types when farming, and always check every container in office spaces.

Cat Beds spawn on furniture like shelves and inside cabinets in Residential buildings. Many players report finding them sitting out in the open on shelving units, so look carefully before opening every container.

The same loot pool drops a handful of other useful items, so it pays to know what to look for.

The Breachable Containers and bags that hold Cat Bed, most often on Blue Gate and Buried City, also roll:

  • Very Comfortable Pillow (3 needed for Scrappy Level 5)
  • Power Cable (3 needed for Gear Bench Level 2)
  • Durable Cloth (30 needed for Expedition 5 phase 2, 5 for Medical Lab Level 2)
  • Lance's Mixtape (5th edition) (2 needed for Expedition 5 phase 4)

Cat Bed also turns up in bags and Breachable Containers on Blue Gate and Buried City, alongside:

What Is A Cat Bed

Cat Beds are classified as Uncommon Trinket-tier items in ARC Raiders. Each Cat Bed weighs 0.5 KG and stacks up to 3 in a single inventory slot, making them reasonably easy to carry.

If you need quick credits, Cat Beds sell for 1,000 Raider Coins each at vendors. However, their real value lies in companion upgrades, so avoid selling them until you have completed the Scrappy progression.

The in-game description reads: “At least a tiny bit more comfortable than your face.” This humorous flavor text hints at its purpose as a comfort item for your feathered companion.

⚔️

Why You Need Cat Beds

Cat Beds serve one primary purpose in ARC Raiders: upgrading Scrappy the Rooster. You need exactly 1 Cat Bed to progress from Scrappy Level 3 to Scrappy Level 4 at your Workshop.

Upgrading Scrappy

Scrappy is your feathered scavenger companion that passively gathers basic resources for you. Upgrading Scrappy increases his efficiency and the quality of items he can find.

Train Scrappy needs 6 Prickly Pear, 6 Olives, and a cat bed

The Scrappy Level 4 upgrade requires 1 Cat Bed, 6 Prickly Pears, and 6 Olives. Make sure you have all three items before attempting the upgrade at your Workstation.

Save at least 1 Cat Bed before selling any extras. Once you complete the Scrappy Level 4 upgrade, you can freely sell additional Cat Beds for credits.

Sell or Keep

Cat Beds sell for 1,000 Raider Coins each. Since you only need 1 Cat Bed for the Scrappy upgrade, any extras can be sold for a decent profit.

We recommend keeping 1 Cat Bed in reserve until you complete the Scrappy Level 4 upgrade. After that, feel free to sell any additional Cat Beds you find during your raids.

While farming for Cat Beds, you may also find Very Comfortable Pillows, which are needed for further Scrappy upgrades. Keep an eye out for these as well.

⚔️

Tips For Farming Cat Beds

Cat Beds stack to 3 and weigh 0.5 KG each. Plan your inventory space accordingly. A dedicated farming run can net multiple Cat Beds if you hit several Residential buildings.

Always use your Safe Pocket for Cat Beds. Equip any Augment in a custom Build rather than running free loadouts to ensure you have Safe Pocket access. If you die during extraction, items in your Safe Pocket are preserved.

Run multiple short raids rather than one long expedition. Residential areas refresh their loot each raid, so quick in-and-out runs to Plaza Rosa or the Village can be more efficient than exploring the entire map.

If you enter a building and it looks clear, extract and reset. Cat Bed spawns are not guaranteed every run, and another player may have already looted the area. Cat Beds are uncommon trinkets that are universally collected for sale, as they usually sell for more than the average item, even if they don’t need them for the upgrade.

Prioritize buildings with visible apartment blocks or shop signage. These tend to have more shelves and containers to check. Minimize time spent looting other unnecessary containers to maximize efficiency.

Look for POIs with red outlines on the map, which indicate high loot zones. Yellow outlines indicate medium loot zones. These marked areas have a higher chance of spawning the items you need.
