Dolabra and Canto Locations – How to find new Arc Blueprints

Tian Wen keeps to herself, but even she has been uniquely isolated in recent weeks. Sounds of welding and cursing from her workshop have been heard late into the night as she attempts to forge new weaponry and gadgets. The Flashpoint update brings three new craftable items to Arc Raiders, and players need to venture into dangerous ARC Operations to find their blueprints.

Flashpoint Blueprints

Dolabra (Legendary Energy Shotgun) | Canto (Rare SMG) | Surge Coil (Deployable Gadget) | Added in Flashpoint Update

This guide covers where to find the Dolabra, Canto, and Surge Coil blueprints, along with strategies to survive the hostile conditions required to obtain them.

Dolabra Blueprint Location

The Dolabra is a Legendary energy shotgun that gives Raiders a new way to punch through ARC armor plating at close range. This experimental weapon features a variable focus, allowing players to fire off a wide burst for close-quarters combat or a focused beam for medium-range engagements. Fueled by Energy Clips with a magazine of 8 rounds, the Dolabra has strong ARC penetration, making it the first shotgun truly viable against ARC enemies.

Close Scrutiny ARC Operation

The Dolabra blueprint can only be found during the Close Scrutiny ARC Operation map condition. This heavy map condition rotates every hour across all Rust Belt locations. During Close Scrutiny, groups of Surveyors and the new Vaporizer enemies scan the map for valuable materials, and an ARC Assessor construct appears containing high-value loot.

The Close Scrutiny Event can be found on the map before deploying, there is usually at least 1 on the map at all times

Close Scrutiny reduces normal loot spawns across the map because the Assessor has absorbed most of the valuable materials. Players must fight through ARC defenders and potentially other Raiders to access the Assessor’s contents.

Pro Tip

During the Flashpoint launch period, Close Scrutiny is rotating consistently across maps. Take advantage of this increased availability before it settles into its standard rotation.

Finding the ARC Assessor

The ARC Assessor spawns every 5 minutes during the Close Scrutiny condition. Look for a red laser shooting into the sky to locate where the Assessor has landed. This beam is visible from across the map and marks the exact position of the construct. Note that a map can have multiple at once, and continuously spawn further ones until the map timer expires.

To find an assessor, look for a thick red laser pointed into the sky. Bluegate has extremely open areas, so I found multiple Assessors easily.

Once located, players need to approach the Assessor and eliminate all ARC enemies guarding it. The Assessor has three breach points at the ends of its arms. Each breaching point is a lootable container that becomes accessible only when platforms (plates) appear over them.

Breaching the assessor can make nearby arc and vapourisers target you fairly quickly, you could quickly put the assessor matrix item in your safe pocket before surrendering.
Warning

Vaporizers appear in groups of two or three around the Assessor and can obliterate approaching players. Come prepared with anti-ARC weapons and gadgets.

Surviving the Assessor

The Assessor is heavily defended and becomes more dangerous as players attempt to breach it. Starting a breach spawns additional ARC enemies, and breaching subsequent containers further escalates the threat. Raiders are advised to bring specific equipment to handle this encounter.

Assessors are heavily guarded, breaching an assessor will usually make all arc nearby agro onto you, as well as spawn further dangerous arc like the all new vapourisers

Recommended Loadout:

  • Photoelectric Cloak – Conceals you from ARC detection, allowing quick breach attempts
  • Smoke Grenades – Pop these on the Assessor to break line of sight while breaching
  • Wolfpack Grenades – Effective against Vaporizer groups
  • Hullcracker – Helps deal with armored ARC enemies quickly

Some players use a riskier tactic: wait for other Raiders to engage the ARC defenders, then dive for the loot while they fight. This is dangerous, but it can work if the timing is right. You can use any loadout you wish, just be aware that the Vapourisers have a temporary shield they can put up, so bait this out and then deal with it as you would a Rocketeer. Oh, yeah, Rocketeers can also spawn nearby / be alerted too.

Nearby Rocketeers, Wasps, Hornets, and multiple Vapourisers all immediately targeted me, causing a definite death. Especially solo.
Info

The Dolabra is a Legendary blueprint, so expect multiple Assessor runs before finding it. One content creator reported breaching the Assessor nine times in a single day without obtaining the blueprint.

Crafting the Dolabra

Once the blueprint is obtained, players need to gather materials to craft the Dolabra at Tian Wen’s workshop.

Dolabra Crafting Requirements:

The Vaporizer Regulators require killing the new Vaporizer enemies introduced in the Flashpoint update. These dangerous flying ARC units appear during Close Scrutiny, so players can farm both the blueprint and crafting materials in the same runs.

Canto Blueprint Location

The Canto is a Rare submachine gun that gives Raiders a fighting chance against ARC in close-quarters combat. Running on medium ammunition with a base magazine of 30 rounds (36 with extended mag attachment), this fully automatic weapon has moderate ARC penetration and features four mod slots: barrel, stock, ammo capacity, and grip. With a max durability of 130 when fully upgraded, the Canto blends the speed of the Stitcher with the stopping power of the Ventor.

Hurricane Event

Unlike the Dolabra, the Canto blueprint does not drop from the Close Scrutiny ARC Operation. Instead, players need to participate in Hurricane map events. The Canto blueprint drops from First Wave Raider Caches that spawn during Hurricane conditions. Hurricane events are rarer now, but they should still spawn occasionally.

Hurricane events are not map-specific. Any Hurricane map condition across the Rust Belt can spawn the Raider Caches containing the Canto blueprint. This makes farming more dependent on event rotation than specific locations.

Finding Raider Caches

During Hurricane events, First Wave Raider Caches spawn across the map. These caches emit a distinct beeping sound that players can hear when nearby. Listen carefully while exploring the map and follow the beeping to locate these special containers.

The caches are scattered throughout the map rather than concentrated in specific areas. Run through the map listening for the audio cue, and check indoor locations as well as outdoor areas.

Pro Tip

Hurricane events have historically been considered lower priority by players. The addition of the Canto blueprint to these caches gives new incentive to participate in this condition.

Crafting the Canto

The Canto requires the Assessor Matrix as one of its crafting components. This material drops from the ARC Assessor during Close Scrutiny events. Players hunting for the Dolabra blueprint will naturally accumulate Assessor Matrix, which can then be used to craft the Canto once that blueprint is obtained.

Breaching Assessors will have a high chance of obtaining an assessor matrix, which are required in the project and blueprints for the new weapons

The Assessor Matrix is also needed for the High-Gain Antenna project, so hold onto any extras for future use.

Info

Despite being Rare (blue) rarity, the Canto blueprint is currently harder to obtain than the Legendary Dolabra due to Hurricane event timing. Hurricane rotates less frequently than Close Scrutiny during the Flashpoint launch period.

Surge Coil Blueprint Location

The Surge Coil is a new deployable gadget added in the Flashpoint update. Sometimes you need peace of mind that nobody is going to sneak up on you while otherwise engaged. The Surge Coil periodically electrifies its surroundings, shocking anything that drifts into its orbit. This makes it useful for area denial and protecting flanks while looting or breaching containers.

The location of the Surge Coil blueprint has not been officially confirmed. Based on the Flashpoint update pattern, it’s likely to drop from one of the new ARC Operations or Assessors. Check the ARC Assessor containers during Close Scrutiny and Raider Caches during Hurricane events for a chance at this blueprint.

Note

Community reports suggest the Surge Coil may drop from the same sources as the Dolabra and Canto. We will update this guide as more information becomes available.

Tips for Farming Flashpoint Blueprints

Blueprint farming in the Flashpoint update requires patience and preparation. The drop rates for Legendary blueprints like the Dolabra are low, and event timing adds another layer of RNG to the grind.

Run light loadouts when farming blueprints. The goal is to get in, breach containers or grab caches, and extract quickly. Bringing expensive gear increases the risk without improving drop chances. A Photoelectric Cloak, some smokes, and a decent weapon are all you need for Assessor runs; you don’t have to engage with Vapourisers.

Chain multiple attempts during active conditions. Close Scrutiny spawns a new Assessor every five minutes, so players can hit multiple Assessors in a single raid. If the first Assessor has already been looted by other players, wait for the next spawn rather than extracting.

Farm materials while hunting blueprints. Close Scrutiny runs yield Assessor Matrix and Vaporizer Regulators alongside blueprint changes. Even unsuccessful runs build up the materials needed to craft these weapons once blueprints drop.

Pro Tip

Take advantage of the Flashpoint launch period when Close Scrutiny is constantly rotating. Once the event settles into standard rotation, opportunities to farm the Dolabra blueprint will become less frequent.

Monitor event rotations. Hurricane events for the Canto blueprint appear less frequently than Close Scrutiny. When a Hurricane condition appears, prioritize farming Raider Caches over other activities.

He doesn't write about anything he hasn't actually played, which usually isn't a problem since he plays too much of everything anyway. Rocket League ate enough of his life to get him to Grand Champion, and he's got several max-level, fully geared characters sitting in World of Warcraft from various binges over the years. Recent obsessions include ARC Raiders, Battlefield, For Honor, and Rainbow Six Siege, with plenty of others in rotation. He's also worked behind the scenes for a well-known gaming creator on video production and editorial pieces, so the guides here are shaped as much by that side of the industry as by the hours logged in-game.
