This guide covers all the best Toaster farming locations, how to identify potential spawns on any map, and tips for maximizing your haul each run to get the refiner level 2 upgrade as soon as possible.
Where are Toasters Found
Toasters spawn exclusively in Residential areas across all maps. These locations are marked on the map with a small person icon, making them easy to identify before you deploy. Once inside a Residential building, check tables, cabinets, and drawers for Toaster spawns.

Kitchens are 100% the best place to look when searching for Toasters; they can also appear on nearby tables – search all cupboards and surfaces. It is logical they’d be found in kitchens, though kitchens are relatively rare in Arc Raiders.
Scroll down for the locations to search in Dam Battlegrounds and Buried City. We highlight the best residential areas on each map.

Extraction pointRuby Residence is the standout location. This building has Toasters sitting directly on tables as soon as you enter, plus additional spawns in drawers throughout the rooms. Players report finding Toasters here consistently across multiple raids.
The Pattern House is another solid option on Dam Battlegrounds. While slightly less consistent than Ruby Residence, it still produces Toasters regularly and can be looted quickly on your way to or from the apartments.
Buried City
Buried City has fewer Residential areas than Dam Battlegrounds, but the Grandioso Apartments complex is worth visiting. Look for the person icon on the map marking this location. The apartments contain the usual Residential loot tables, including Toasters in cabinets and on furniture.

Extraction pointThe downside of Buried City is that Residential POIs are more spread out. If Toaster farming is your primary goal, Dam Battlegrounds is the more efficient choice.
Riven Tides
Riven Tides has very few reported Toaster finds. The Residential loot on Riven Tides sits in Hotel Panorama Azzurro and Azzurro Beach. Hotel Panorama Azzurro is a high-threat area, so expect ARC and other players. Not worth a dedicated run; pick them up if you’re there for something else.

Pendola Pass is the newest map, so there aren’t many reports yet and this leans on the game’s own loot data. The Residential loot on Pendola Pass sits in Old Town and Researcher Lodgings. Old Town is a medium-threat area, so it’s busy but manageable.

Storm Hut (approx., opens in a Flash Freeze)Other Maps
Any map with Residential markers can spawn Toasters. Before deploying, check the map for the person icon indicating Residential areas. These POIs share the same loot tables regardless of which map they appear on. Though Dam Battlegrounds and Buried City are where players swear are the best to find Toasters, and I believe them, as my own runs resulted in good yields of toasters.

Night raids work just as well as day raids for Toaster hunting. The spawns do change based on time of day, so queue for whichever raid fits your playstyle and willingness to take risks.
What Do the Stats Tell Us
Dam Battlegrounds accounts for 63% of all Toaster finds, making it the dominant farming map. Buried City follows at 26%, while Blue Gate contributes 11%. Stella Montis and The Spaceport report no Toaster drops, likely due to their lack of Residential zones.

According to community loot data, 71% of all Toasters are found in containers (meaning usual draws and cupboards), while boxes and lockers each account for 14%. Focus on searching standard containers in Residential buildings for the best results.
As a Residential item, Toasters spawn in living spaces like apartments and houses. Look for kitchens, countertops, and shelving units when searching for spawns. The northern Residential buildings on Dam Battlegrounds (Pale Apartments, Ruby Residence, Pattern House) are particularly good farming spots.
How To Identify Residential Areas
Residential areas are marked on the map with a small person icon, so you can plan routes before you deploy with an idea of where to go for toasters. This icon resembles a simple human silhouette and indicates that the POI contains apartment buildings, houses, or other residential spaces.

When you arrive at a Residential area, look for apartment complexes and furnished rooms. Toasters spawn inside these buildings on tables, inside cabinets, and within drawers. Open everything you see to maximize your chances of finding them.
Unlike some items that spawn on the ground outdoors, Toasters only appear inside buildings. Focus your search on interior spaces and ignore outdoor areas around Residential POIs.
Also Found Here
Containers hold more than one thing, so here’s what else is worth grabbing on the same run.
The bags and Breachable Containers that hold Toaster, most often on Blue Gate and Buried City, also roll:
- Very Comfortable Pillow (3 needed for Scrappy Level 5)
- Cat Bed (1 needed for Scrappy Level 4)
- Power Cable (3 needed for Gear Bench Level 2)
- Dog Collar (1 needed for Scrappy Level 2)
Toaster also turns up in bags and solar panels on Blue Gate and Riven Tides, alongside:
- Durable Cloth (30 needed for Expedition 5 phase 2, 5 for Medical Lab Level 2)
- Speaker Component (15 needed for Expedition 5 phase 3)
- Ice Cream Scooper (sells for 640 Raider Coins)
- Canister (sells for 300 Raider Coins)
What is a Toaster
Toasters are classified as Rare items. Each Toaster weighs 2.0 units and stacks up to 3 in a single inventory slot. If you need quick cash, Toasters sell for 1,000 coins each at vendors.

The primary value of Toasters comes from recycling. Processing a Toaster at your Workshop yields 5 Plastic Parts and 3 Wires. Salvaging in the field only produces 3 Wires, so always bring Toasters back to base when possible.
Why You Need Toasters
Toasters serve a main purpose in ARC Raiders: upgrading the Refiner. We’d recommend upgrading, then selling them if you have a surplus. Recycling often gives less value than selling outright.
Upgrading the Refiner
The primary use for Toasters is upgrading your Workshop Refiner from Level 1 to Level 2. This upgrade requires 3 Toasters, 5 ARC Motion Cores, and 8 Fireball Burners. The upgraded Refiner unlocks additional recycling recipes and improves material yields.
Save at least 3 Toasters before recycling any extras. Once you complete the Refiner upgrade, you can freely recycle additional Toasters for materials.
Recycling Value
After completing upgrades, Toasters become valuable recycling fodder. Each Toaster produces 5 Plastic Parts and 3 Wires when processed at your Workshop. Plastic Parts are used in numerous crafting recipes, making Toasters a solid source of this material.
Avoid salvaging Toasters in the field unless your inventory is completely full. Salvaging only yields 3 Wires, losing the 5 Plastic Parts you would get from proper recycling at base.
Tips for Farming Toasters
Toasters stack to 3, and each weighs 2.0 units. Plan your inventory space accordingly. A dedicated farming run can net 6 or more Toasters if you hit multiple Residential buildings.

Use your Safe Pocket for Toasters whenever possible. If you die during extraction, items in your Safe Pocket are preserved. This protects your valuable finds from being lost to other players or ARC enemies.
Run multiple short raids rather than one long expedition. Residential areas refresh their loot each raid, so quick in-and-out runs to Ruby Residence can be more efficient than exploring the entire map.
Check every container in Residential buildings. Toasters can spawn on tables in plain sight, but they also appear inside drawers and cabinets. Thorough looting ensures you do not miss any spawns.

If done during Night Raids, drop chances of Toasters substantially increase – if you don’t mind the added risk and definitely have safe pockets to spare, doing Night Raids in Dam Battlegrounds or Buried City could yield extremely successful runs.
Frequently Asked Questions
