This comprehensive guide covers all known World Forged loot item locations in Durotar for World of Warcraft Ascension. All World Forged items provide unique stats and appearances, making them valuable treasures for players exploring the zone, requiring little effort to obtain. Still, they can be missed if their locations aren’t known or too obvious.

Personal Discovery Note: Images accompany all items listed in this guide to facilitate easier location. Additionally, every area has been thoroughly scanned and tested to ensure the accuracy and completeness of this treasure-hunting guide.

Durotar Worldforged Items locations

Once you’ve left the Orc’s Starting area, you tend to move towards the lower section of Durotar. This guide will try to follow where most players would travel during their leveling, while taking the most direct route between worldforged items to try to be as efficient as possible.

The images have information about the item via their tooltip – though it may be different from what you see in-game, as items scale to level slightly. But the same stats should be awarded.

Forgotten Sack

This is a familiar worldforged layout. On the gates of most starting areas, you can find an 8-slot bag, which, at the time of completing the starting area, is useful. As soon as you leave the Orc’s Starting area, there is an 8-slot bag behind an NPC.

Redrock Sash

Lost Goods

Found fairly close to the first village you go to, directly west of it. It can be found in a ditch near the village. It is a Cloth belt that gives stamina.

Apprentice’s Harpoon

Apprentice’s Harpoon

Directly south of Sen’jin Village, you can find a two-handed polearm leaning against one of the pillars of the Fisherman’s Hut. This is fitting for the setting, as some fishermen use spears for fishing. The polearm is located near the grunt mobs and is a great choice for Hoplite players since it provides bonuses to both strength and agility.

Centaur Axe

Centaur Axe

Found within a 1-way in and out area with many mobs, at the very end, there is a scroll and a glowing axe. The scroll is part of a quest, and the axe is a worldforged 1-handed Axe.

You’ll need to go to this area for a quest anyway, so it is an easy find.

Grunt’s old Knife

Shabby Knife

Directly west of the Village, there is a camping Orc, sitting next to the Shabby Knife. Interacting with this will grant the player Grunt’s Old Knife, a dagger-type item slightly north of the Centaur’s Axe.

Bloodtalon Vestments

Dead Adventurer

Venturing off to the islands, you’ll see a worldforged item, which is a dead Troll’s Chestpiece that the player can loot. This is an excellent chest for those using magic abilities, as it awards intellect. The first quest cluster is to kill crabs and trolls – on one of the islands, there is a dead troll.

Kul Tiras Handwraps

Floating Barrel

At the southernmost island of Durotar, you’ll find a lootable barrel containing stamina gloves. This barrel is located just off the southern tip of the island.

String of Ears

Bloody Necklace

Look at one of the walls in the Trolls’ house on the Troll-infested island – you’ll need to clear the house to get to it. It’s the wall just before the broken staircase.

Raptorscale Cloak

Abandoned Banner

We’re not too sure why it is called an abandoned banner, as it’s a cloak on an orc. It is useful for melee players as it rewards agility/strength. (maybe even hunters)

Voodoo Kilt

Makashar’s Belongings

Makashar is a named mob located not far from Sen’jin Village, although you’ll need to travel through the water to reach him. He isn’t challenging to defeat. Behind him, you’ll find a chest called Makashar’s Belongings. This is particularly useful for healers/casters.

Kul Tiras Armplates

Broken Crate

This lootable world forge is located inside the hostile castle. Go inside the castle, turn right, then left, and straight ahead should be a broken crate containing the Kul Tiras Armplates that award strength.

Treasured Cutlass

Embedded Sword

On one of the shipwrecks near the Castle, there is a sword embedded in the steering wheel of the shipwreck. This was a rare worldforged item, meaning it has more attributes than most worldforged items. Awards Agility and Haste, which is helpful for melee players mostly.

Sailor’s Gambeson

Sailor’s Gambeson

There’s a lone tower North of the Castle, which has a chestpiece on top of a drawer – a Leather Chest that awards Agility and Stamina.

Sailor’s Cuffs

Floating Cargo

Inside another shipwreck, not too far from the Embedded Sword, is a Crate – you’ll have to swim to access this one. The Leather Bracers give the player Agi and Stamina.

Charred Battlegreaves

Abandoned Crates

Seemingly connected to the Arsonist storyline, these abandoned crates contained burnt gear that could be linked to the firestarter, as well as burnt structures found West of Durotar. They can be found in an abandoned cart in front of a burnt Orc’s home.

Untouched Cactus Fruit

Untouched Cactus

A seemingly normal cactus that can be looted for a food item, giving the player a healthy boost of Stamina if they eat for 10 seconds – if you start eating and move before 10 seconds, the item’s benefit is lost.

Quilbow

Quilbow

Amongst one of the first few camps of the Quilboars is a bow leaning against a Quilboar’s tent. You’ll have to fight a few Quilboars to reach it.

Dustrunner Bindings

Loot Basket

In another Quilboar camp, further west, there is an enclosure that contains a chest and a worldforged item called the Dustrunner Bindings inside a basket.

Firestarter

Firestarter

To the left of Razor Hill, there is a pile of rubble with a torch protruding from the ground. This torch is said to be one of the tools responsible for many fires throughout Durotar. It is an offhand item that provides bonuses to spell power and intellect, making it useful for casters.

Book of Healing

Book of Healing

In one of the new, friendly structures added in the latest updates, there is a moderately sized Training Camp that features two worldforged items. The first is the Book of Healing, which can be found near the nurse located on the upper level of the building.

Champion’s Band

Champion’s Band

Rings are relatively rare at lower levels, making this an amazing find – it is found on the table behind the leader of the Training Camp. If questing normally, you should be in the area naturally as part of questlines.

Totem Charged Mace

Totem Charged Mace

On top of the Shaman path is a massive rock; right beside it is a Mace useful for Shamans. As in Ascension, it isn’t a quest required to gain Shaman abilities; unlike World of Warcraft Classic, it is a subtle nod to the area’s original service.

Southfury Totem

Southfury Totem

At the bottom of the Shaman Trail is another nod to the original use of the area, as this is an offhand that directly gives a damage increase to Shaman abilities.

Bramble Shield

Looted Shield

In the Razormine camps north of the training Camp, you can find a Shield behind a large nettle in front of some tents.

Retired Grunt’s Chainmail

Scorched Equipment Cache

This is another abandoned Orc’s Hut, which is half fallen down. Inside is the Retired Grunt’s Chainmail.

Logsplitter

Logsplitter

In the friendly Boar Farm found not too far from Origrimmar, you can find a Log Axe stuck on top of a Log.

Ravine Sack

Pillaged Sack

On the path between Razor Hill and Origrimmar, there is a 10 slot bag – especially useful as most players at this stage should have multiple 6 slot bags. This is a common theme in many areas, where there is a large bag near major cities.

Thunder Hide Tailspike

Broken Tail Spike

In one of the pits of the rocky areas, infested with Thunderhides (Large Rhinos with Thunder abilities), at the very end of the pit, is a dagger that can proc extra damage.

Harpy Hunter

Harpy Hunter

The Harpy Hunter can be difficult to find at first, but it is on one of the rocks you can see from the Harpy area, requiring a little parkour to get to.

Earthshatterer Gravel

Shiny Hammer

This is not found in the Harpy pit, but rather on top of the overhangs, located not far from the Harpy area, in front of a friendly Harper called Queen Erethina.

Burning Blade Mark

Burning Blade Initiate’s Stash

Found in one of the caves of Durotar, this cave is pretty small and filled with Warlock Orcs and Voidwalkers – on top of the rocky overhangs.

Stormwitch Staff

Stormwitch Staff

Another item found in the Harpy area, through the cave entrance and out the other side, is a Staff inside a Harpy Nest.

Farm Hands

Farmer’s old gear

The first structure outside Orgrimmar Gates is a farmhouse, where a farmer’s gloves are resting on a table.

Margoz’ Spare Stompers

Spare Stompers

Near the Undercity Blimp, there is a friendly NPC named Margoz in his own hut, who is wearing tattered clothes, and you can take his spare shoes, because why not?

Sturdy Fishing pole

Fishy Fishing Pole

On top of a rock in the ocean east of the Stompers, there is a fishing rod that grants the player a +5 fishing skill boost.

Skull Sword

Stuck Sword

Inside the infamous Skull Cave, required for a quest in Ragefire Chasm, there is a sword stuck in a rock near the boss Guzz’uz.

Scaling explained

Please note that the items mentioned in the tooltips may have different required levels. However, for a player exploring these areas for the first time, the item levels should be appropriate for the gear they are looting. These items offer a benefit compared to the standard gear that players typically have at this level.

I’d gone through the worldforged loot locations with my overleveled character, and so those items may have scaled to my level, though most of the stats should remain the same and still be relevant to readers.

Thomas has been writing game guides for over a year, covering whatever he's currently sunk into. He doesn't write about anything he hasn't actually played, which usually isn't a problem since he plays too much of everything anyway. Rocket League ate enough of his life to get him to Grand Champion, and he's got several max-level, fully geared characters sitting in World of Warcraft from various binges over the years. Recent obsessions include ARC Raiders, Battlefield, For Honor, and Rainbow Six Siege, with plenty of others in rotation. He's also worked behind the scenes for a well-known gaming creator on video production and editorial pieces, so the guides here are shaped as much by that side of the industry as by the hours logged in-game. Every tip, build, and location in his guides comes from his own playthroughs. If he hasn't tested it, it doesn't get published.
