Mystic Enchantments Menu

Mystic Enchants represent the core foundation of character customization in World of Warcraft Ascension, serving as the primary mechanism that transforms the traditional class system into something unique. These powerful enhancements are far more than simple stat boosts or minor modifications – they fundamentally reshape how players experience their characters, offering everything from new abilities and spells to complete playstyle overhauls that can turn a Mage into a pet-taming class or a Hunter into a melee powerhouse.

Understanding the Mystic Enchant system is essential for any player looking to succeed in Ascension’s classless environment. These enchantments are described by experienced players as “the bread and butter of every class,” making them absolutely crucial for creating viable builds. Whether players are seeking to enhance traditional class roles or experiment with entirely new combinations, Mystic Enchants provide the tools necessary to craft truly personalized characters that stand out in both PvE and PvP content.

Accessing the Mystic Enchant menu

The Mystic Enchant menu can be found on the character advancement (Default is the N Key). You’ll likely see a purple menu, either filled with random enchants never seen before (for those that used a featured build) or an empty interface for those that are doing free-pick for the first time.

Enchant Scrolls

Enchant Scrolls are scrolls that one person can use at a time. They are picked up from the world directly, or found using unidentified Mystic Scrolls – you can use them as is, for the character you want. Alternatively, you can visit a mystic altar to transfer them to your enchantment collection, eliminating the need for bag space and allowing multiple players to use it at any time.

The progression system for Mystic Enchants follows a structured leveling timeline, ensuring players gradually gain access to more powerful enhancement options as they advance through the game. Understanding this progression helps players plan their character development and anticipate when new build options become available.

Players receive their first Mystic Enchant slot at level 10, followed by additional slots at level 15. The progression continues with new slots unlocking at levels 25, 30, 35, and beyond, creating a steady stream of character customization opportunities throughout the leveling experience.

Finding Enchantments in the World

Mystic Enchantments can be discovered through multiple methods scattered throughout Azeroth’s expanded world. Players will find enchantment scrolls as clickable objects sparkling on the ground in various zones, often hidden in secret locations or tucked away in hard-to-reach areas that reward exploration and curiosity.

Books of Ascension represent another reliable source of Mystic Enchants, scattered throughout different zones and offering quest opportunities that reward players with specific enchantments. Rare enemies throughout the world also have chances to drop enchantment scrolls, with enemies that use particular abilities often dropping related enchantments for those same spells.

Understanding Mystic Enchant Rarity Tiers

The Mystic Enchant system operates on a structured rarity hierarchy that determines both the power level and slot limitations for each enchantment type. Players must understand these restrictions to plan their character effectively builds and maximize their potential effectiveness in various gameplay scenarios.

Legendary Mystic Enchants

Legendary Mystic Enchants represent the pinnacle of the enhancement system, with players limited to equipping only one Legendary at any given time. These powerful enchantments serve as the foundation of most builds, often providing signature abilities that define entire playstyles. Examples include abilities like Frozen Orb for Mages or One With The Light for Paladins, each offering transformative effects that can completely change how a class functions.

They are usually found in specific situations, such as the Defias Gunslinger Legendary only being found in a chest inside the Deadmines Dungeon. They are added to the collection, ie don’t take a bag space.

Epic Mystic Enchants

Epic Mystic Enchants provide substantial support for Legendary abilities, with players able to equip up to three Epic enchantments simultaneously. These enhancements typically offer targeted improvements that complement and enhance the primary Legendary ability, creating synergistic effects that amplify the overall effectiveness of the build.

Those are usually found within 60+ content, in the outlands, where mobs randomly drop ‘_ Mystic Scroll’, where they’ll be added to a collection. Once you can’t redeem any more of a type (in this example, it is Wizard’s scrolls), you can start vendoring them for 50 silver apiece. Other types include Fighters, Demonic, Primal, Demonic, Necrotic, and more.

They are added to the collection; i.e., they don’t take up a bag space. (Once redeemed)

Rare Mystic Enchants

Rare Mystic Enchants fill supporting roles within builds, offering utility improvements such as mana regeneration bonuses, critical strike chance increases, or other statistical enhancements. Players can equip up to six Rare enchantments, though most individual Rare enchants can only be stacked up to three times for cumulative effects.

Those are commonly dropped by sub-60 mobs and found within most content in the game, though they can appear in scripted events.

They are placed in your inventory upon pickup and can be put into the Mystic Scrolls collection via Mystic Altars for a fee.

Uncommon Mystic Enchants

Those enchants are also support role enchants, where they boost/decrease an unwanted effect from an ability that could otherwise be useful.

Uncommons can be obtained through Unidentified Mystic Scrolls, which randomly drop from mobs.

They are placed in your inventory upon pickup and can be put into the Mystic Scrolls collection via Mystic Altars for a fee.

Example Build

Some swap out the Uncommons for Rares, meaning it is possible to have 13 Rare Mystic Enchantments and no Uncommons.

Most builds follow the basic principle of basing the epics, rares, and uncommons to support the Legendary, as it is the core for every build and changes the most in any slot. Generally, the higher the rarity, the higher the impact.

Mystic Altars and Enhancement Application

Mystic Altars serve as the primary interface for applying and managing Mystic Enchantments, functioning as specialized crafting stations that players must locate to modify their enhancement loadouts. These altars can be found in major cities, such as Orgrimmar and Stormwind, typically positioned near Call Boards or Auction Houses for convenient access.

Players can also discover Mystic Altars scattered throughout the open world in various zones, including locations like Azshara and Desolace Crater. Some enterprising players purchase personal Mystic Altars from the in-game store, allowing them to place these enhancement stations in convenient locations for their guild or group members.

They can appear differently at times; it may also resemble a giant anvil or a robotic device.

Scroll Types and Altar Functions

Unidentified Mystic Scrolls represent one of the primary methods for acquiring new enchantments through altar interaction. These scrolls cost 10 silver to obtain from the altar interface and provide completely random enchantments when used, though players should note that the results can be for any class, not necessarily their current character type.

You can also get Scrolls free from mobs in the open world

Players can buy Unimbued Mystic Scrolls for 10 silver, then reforge them into a Mystic Enchant, of varying qualities – then save this to the collection if it suits them, otherwise reroll for another 250 Runes. The Save to collection option gradually increases to 5000 runes each, then stays at 5000 Runes forever. (Note you can also not save it to the collection if it’s in the inventory of the character you want to use them)

Each level in Mystic Enchanting awards the player with a free Mystic Essence, which makes for a free process that would otherwise cost Runes of Essence. You can basically get your first 20 Reforges free by talking to a daily quest giver near the Call Boards in Orgrimmar and Stormwind.

Currency Systems and Resource Management

The Mystic Enchant system operates on three primary currencies that players must understand and manage effectively. Mystic Orbs serve as the primary application currency, required whenever players want to equip known enchantments onto their gear pieces, with costs varying based on enchantment rarity.

Mystic Extracts provide the mechanism for permanently learning enchantments and adding them to the account-wide collection. Players obtain Mystic Extracts by leveling their Mystic Enchanting skill through reforging activities, with each level providing one extract that can be used to learn new enchantments.

Runes of Ascension and Costs

Runes of Ascension function as the premium currency within the enchantment system, obtained through quest completion, daily activities, and dungeon participation, including Random Dungeon Finder runs that typically provide around 250 Runes. These runes are essential for extracting enchantments to the permanent collection and for rerolling unwanted enchantments at altars. Want to farm Runes of Ascension? The application costs for enchantments scale with rarity levels, requiring 25 Mystic Orbs for Legendary enchantments, 10 orbs for Epic enchantments, 6 orbs for Rare enchantments, and 3 orbs for Uncommon enchantments. Players typically accumulate sufficient orbs through regular gameplay activities without significant difficulty.

Enchantment Presets and Advanced Management

Enchantment Presets represent one of the most powerful but underutilized features of the Mystic Enchant system, allowing players to save complete enchantment configurations for instant swapping between different builds or situations. These presets function similarly to gear swap macros but operate exclusively on enchantment loadouts.

Players can create multiple preset configurations through the enchantment interface, saving different combinations for various scenarios, such as Area of Effect-focused builds for dungeon clearing, single-target configurations for boss encounters, or completely different role setups for switching between DPS and healing responsibilities.

Preset Applications and Keybinding

The preset system allows for enchantment swapping without requiring proximity to a Mystic Altar, though preset loading does require a brief casting time to complete the transition. Players can bind preset activation to action bars through the Mystic Enchanting tab in their spellbook, enabling quick access to preset swapping during combat or between encounters.

This flexibility proves particularly valuable during Mythic Plus dungeons or complex raid encounters where different phases might benefit from different enchantment configurations. Players can optimize their character for trash-clearing phases and then quickly swap to boss-focused presets when needed.

Leveling Mystic Enchanting Experience

The Mystic Enchanting skill system requires active participation to advance, with experience gained primarily through reforging activities at Mystic Altars. The amount of experience gained scales with the item level of gear being reforged, making high-level equipment more valuable for skill advancement purposes.

Players looking to advance their Mystic Enchanting skill rapidly should focus on reforging their highest item level pieces, as weapons and high-level gear provide significantly more experience than lower-level accessories. Each skill level advancement provides one Mystic Extract, making skill progression directly tied to the ability to learn new enchantments.

Efficient Leveling Strategies

One popular strategy involves purchasing level 15 trinkets from PvP vendors and repeatedly reforging them until valuable enchantments appear, then selling the enhanced trinkets on the Auction House for profit while gaining enchanting experience. This method provides both skill advancement and potential gold income.

Players can also utilize Dormwood, the Master of Time NPC, who offers Mystic Droughts for 5,000 Marks of Ascension that instantly increase enchanting levels and provide extracts. While expensive, this option provides an alternative for players seeking immediate advancement without the need for extensive reforging.

He doesn't write about anything he hasn't actually played, which usually isn't a problem since he plays too much of everything anyway. Rocket League ate enough of his life to get him to Grand Champion, and he's got several max-level, fully geared characters sitting in World of Warcraft from various binges over the years. Recent obsessions include ARC Raiders, Battlefield, For Honor, and Rainbow Six Siege, with plenty of others in rotation. He's also worked behind the scenes for a well-known gaming creator on video production and editorial pieces, so the guides here are shaped as much by that side of the industry as by the hours logged in-game.
