Making money in WoW Ascension Area 52 doesn’t have to be complicated. This guide shows you a simple farming method that can get you over 200,000 Runes of Ascension and 1,000 gold per hour. With multiple characters, you can earn even more…daily.

Personally, I’d done this across 3 characters and was able to buy a complete set of heirlooms (more or less) within a few hours.

Too long, didn’t read

Using Call Board Dailies, accept all PvE Quests (not the dungeons, just the open world ones). This is usually a cluster of 4-6 quests in Outlands. Travel there, group up by the elite spawn, and farm it while handing in quests using a Portable Call Board.

Quests are frequently clustered in one area, requiring little running between objectives.

Each completion of a daily gives you either 3,000 or 4,500 Runes of Ascension, depending on the quest – you can hand this in a multitude of times, meaning without making any trips – you could complete a cluster of quests over and over, earning upwards of 200,000 runes of ascension, and 1,000 gold, as there are potentially 50 chests.

PORTABLE CALL BOARD (OUTLAW) – COSTS $15 IN THE ASCENSION STORE

Using a portable Call Board cuts down on the trips and makes this an efficient farming method. Someone usually has one and will ‘inc cb’ or something along those lines, typically situated near the elites.

If you do get a portable call board, get the outlaw one – this works for both factions. It is reusable and yours forever, every character can have one, and it is personally the best value for money item in the store. Link is here:

How Call Board Dailies Work

The best way to farm starts at the call board with PvE daily quests in the Outlands. These quests give amazing rewards when you do them right. Each quest gives you either 3,000 or 4,500 Runes of Ascension, plus a gear chest you can sell for about 20 gold.

Check if it is high foot traffic – otherwise, it may be an old daily you’ve accepted previously

The most important quest is the “Wanted” one, where you kill a named elite boss. This special quest has its own daily counter, which means it doesn’t count against your regular dailies. When you arrive at the call board, click “Accept All Quests” to collect everything at once. You’ll get different tasks like killing 8 mobs, collecting 4 items off the ground, or sometimes interacting with objects in the environment, which you can do while waiting for the elite to spawn.

Getting Your Group Together

Finding a group is easy – you don’t need friends or a premade team. When you arrive at your farming spot, look for existing groups first. I usually walk right up to players who are already farming and type “pls inv” in the chat. This simple approach works almost every time, as they know you’re there for the same rewards. The bigger the group, the faster things are done.

I’d literally just asked for invites and got into an intense farming group for an hour

If no groups exist, start your own by inviting everyone you see near the elite boss. Most players are there for the same reason, so they’ll usually accept right away. Whether it’s random players or friends, both work just fine. Try to keep your group at exactly five players – no more, no less. If you have more than five, it becomes a raid group, and progress towards dailies won’t count.

The portable call board is what makes this method really work. It’s an item that players can place down, creating a mini quest hub for a few minutes. Your group can spread out doing quests and turning them in right away, while everyone helps each other complete objectives. Put the call board near the elite boss spawn so you can kill it whenever it respawns while doing other quests during the wait time.

The Trick

The trick is essentially setting up in a dense area, picking a quest or two in the same area as the Elite, to do while waiting for the Elite to respawn. In some clusters, it is possible to complete almost all of them while waiting, thanks to hyper-spawns and high-traffic areas.

Someone in the group will put down a call board, using a portable call board vanity item – the only way to guarantee this is by buying and using it. (It has infinite uses.)

Understanding Daily Counters

Here’s where things get interesting with the counters. Personally, I’ve gotten around 25 completions for the regular quests and 40 for the Wanted boss quest in one session. There’s a UI issue where only the non-Wanted counter shows up on your screen. Don’t let this confuse you – the Wanted quest has its own hidden counter that was higher for me as I’d done some dailies solo before learning about this method and couldn’t approach elites alone.

Personally, I just kept killing the boss and turning in the quest until it wouldn’t let me anymore. You’ll know you’ve hit the limit when the quest stops being available. This hidden counter is what makes the farming slightly confusing.

Saving Up Your Dailies

Daily quests stack up if you don’t do them, making this method even better. Skip dailies for several days, then do them all at once. If you wait until you have 40 daily completions saved up (or more for the Wanted quest), you can do them all in one big session. This saves time because the setup is usually the longest part.

After a good farming session, your bags will be full of gear chests. I’ve had over 40 chests in my inventory before, and once got nearly 60. These chests aren’t just for selling – check each one for gear upgrades. If you find better gear, equip it and sell your old stuff for extra gold. This way, you’re making money and improving your character at the same time. I have a PvP Set and a PvE set.

Using Multiple Characters

The real money comes from using several max-level characters. With three characters at max level, you can easily make over 500,000 Runes and 2,000 gold in a single day. The setup time is basically the same whether you’re using one character or three, so extra characters mean extra profit for no additional costs.

You don’t have to buy a portable call board from Ascension’s shop (it costs $15 in real money). You can use one from your group members or find other players who have placed one down. In busy farming spots, players often share their call boards so everyone can benefit – if put down, it’s usually near the elite spawn.

Tips for Better Farming

Select high-traffic areas where many players gather – this makes it easier to find groups. This is usually near the Elite spawn. Don’t be shy about asking for invites or starting your own group.

Remember that the UI won’t show your accurate Wanted quest counter, so keep going until you can’t accept the quest anymore.

Learn the quest patterns in each cluster. For example, in the dailies I’d done today, there were hyper spawns, so we generally stayed in one location with a view of the elite spawn, handing them in as soon as quests are complete, as everyone should be completing their own quests, and in turn, yours as well.

This method works for everyone. Whether you play for just a little each day or farm for hours, you can adjust this system to fit your schedule and still earn a significant amount of Runes of Ascension / Gold. The beauty is that random groups work just as well as organized ones – everyone benefits from working together.

Thomas has been writing game guides for over a year, covering whatever he's currently sunk into. He doesn't write about anything he hasn't actually played, which usually isn't a problem since he plays too much of everything anyway. Rocket League ate enough of his life to get him to Grand Champion, and he's got several max-level, fully geared characters sitting in World of Warcraft from various binges over the years. Recent obsessions include ARC Raiders, Battlefield, For Honor, and Rainbow Six Siege, with plenty of others in rotation. He's also worked behind the scenes for a well-known gaming creator on video production and editorial pieces, so the guides here are shaped as much by that side of the industry as by the hours logged in-game. Every tip, build, and location in his guides comes from his own playthroughs. If he hasn't tested it, it doesn't get published.
