Callboard is showing no quests

Usually, players can go to the Callboard and go to the PvP Tab, where they’d get a few quests to do with PvP – Rewarding a lot of Chests of PvP Gear, Runes of Ascension, Honor Points, and Arena Points. This was the primary way most people gained PvP Gear within a few games; life was good.

The PvP Callboard in Ascension is currently not working for any players. When you visit the Callboard and click on the PvP Tab, no quests appear, regardless of your character’s level.

This is a server-side issue, which means players cannot fix it themselves. The only solution is to report the bug through official channels and wait for the developers to resolve it.

Why This is Likely Happening

There are two main reasons why the Callboard appears to be broken:

First, the development team is focused on launching Bronzebeard, the new server to which most of the player base has migrated. Since Ascension operates as a business, resources naturally go toward where the majority of players are active. Unfortunately, not all players rely heavily on the Callboard, so it may not be considered a top priority.

Second, players have noticed that Bronzebeard features are appearing in the Callboard interface. For example, the Bronzebeard logo sometimes shows up when reloading the page. This suggests the developers may be trying to make the Callboard compatible with the new server, which could have caused the current bug.

While the development team is aware of the issue (with multiple bug reports filed, including this one: https://ascension.gg/en/bugtracker/view/150933), a fix hasn’t been implemented yet.

I don't know what else you are working on. I know that there are a lot of other things broken. But the call board has been broken for at least a month, and this is extremely significant as it is the major source of Runes of Ascension, and since you made changing MEs so damn expensive, it makes it harder for people to play custom builds. The MAJOR attraction of this game is playing all those interesting custom builds (rather than the featured ones which are ok, but can be a bit under-tuned). As one software engineer to another, I am begging you to fix this as the top priority.

How This Impacts Players

Before the Callboard broke, players could complete PvP quests that rewarded substantial amounts of PvP Gear Chests, Runes of Ascension, Honor Points, and Arena Points. This was the primary method by which most players geared up for PvP quickly and efficiently. Within just a few games, you could earn enough rewards to improve your character significantly.

Now, without access to these quests, players are losing out on:

  • Honor Points for purchasing gear
  • Runes of Ascension for character progression
  • PvP Gear Chests that speed up the gearing process
  • Arena Points for competitive rewards

This creates a growing gap between players who geared up before the bug and newer or returning players trying to catch up. Players who obtained their gear from the Callboard before it broke have a significant advantage, while others struggle to find alternative methods that are nowhere near as efficient.

The Gearing Struggle Without the Callboard

Without the Callboard, players must find other ways to gear up. The most common option is purchasing Season 4 Honor Gear in Shattrath. This gear has an item level of 156 and includes PvP Power, making it superior to most alternatives. However, getting enough Honor Points without Callboard quests takes much longer.

Some players turn to PvE gear, which offers similar stats but lacks the PvP Power bonus. This means losing around 25% effectiveness in PvP combat, which is a significant disadvantage when you’re trying to optimize your character’s damage, healing, or survivability.

For players who enjoy theorycrafting and testing different builds, having multiple gear sets with different stats is essential. You might want spell power-heavy gear for casting builds, or you might test a hybrid approach with intellect for spell wards and strength for melee defense and damage. Without easy access to gear through the Callboard, experimentation becomes much harder and more time-consuming.

Why This Isn’t Acceptable

For players who focus primarily on PvP content, the broken Callboard is more than just an inconvenience. It’s preventing them from enjoying the game the way they want to. Many players, myself included, were able to gear multiple characters before this bug appeared. The difference between geared and undergeared players is becoming more noticeable every day.

Project Ascension attracts players specifically because of its custom systems and theorycrafting opportunities. When core features like the PvP Callboard stop working, it undermines the entire experience. Players deserve reliable access to the tools and systems that make the game enjoyable, especially when those systems have been working fine until recently.

The PvP community needs the Callboard to function properly. Until it’s fixed, many players are stuck grinding inefficiently or falling further behind in gear progression.

Thomas has been writing game guides for over a year, covering whatever he's currently sunk into. He doesn't write about anything he hasn't actually played, which usually isn't a problem since he plays too much of everything anyway. Rocket League ate enough of his life to get him to Grand Champion, and he's got several max-level, fully geared characters sitting in World of Warcraft from various binges over the years. Recent obsessions include ARC Raiders, Battlefield, For Honor, and Rainbow Six Siege, with plenty of others in rotation. He's also worked behind the scenes for a well-known gaming creator on video production and editorial pieces, so the guides here are shaped as much by that side of the industry as by the hours logged in-game. Every tip, build, and location in his guides comes from his own playthroughs. If he hasn't tested it, it doesn't get published.
