Marvel Rivals Tier List – All Heroes Ranked

Marvel Rivals features a roster of over 50 heroes across three roles: Vanguard, Duelist, and Strategist. Not all heroes are created equal, and understanding where each one falls in the current meta can make a significant difference in ranked play. This tier list ranks every hero from S Tier down to D Tier based on consistency, carry potential, and overall value at all levels of play. Every hero in Marvel Rivals is capable of winning games in the right hands. The rankings below reflect how reliably a hero contributes across a wide range of matches, not just peak performance. Heroes in lower tiers are not unplayable, but require more effort, coordination, or specific conditions to match what top-tier picks offer for free.

S Tier Heroes

S Tier heroes are the most consistent and impactful picks in Marvel Rivals. Many of these heroes are banned frequently in competitive play, which is the strongest indicator of their power level. If they are available in the pick phase, they should almost always be considered first.

Gambit

Gambit is the strongest Strategist in Marvel Rivals and the most frequently banned pick at every level. His ultimate provides a team-wide speed and damage boost that effectively wins team fights on activation, and his base kit offers healing, mobility, cleanse, and anti-heal. If Gambit is open, play Gambit.

Daredevil

Daredevil is the best dive Duelist in the game and can single-handedly run lobbies when played with proper mechanics. He sees through invisibility, making him a natural counter to Invisible Woman-heavy compositions. Mastering his combos in the practice range translates directly into match impact at every rank.

Venom

Venom is one of the best Vanguards in the game thanks to his exceptional mobility, strong damage output, and ability to create space with minimal coordination. The recent crowd control changes benefit him significantly, allowing him to sustain through dive pressure and escape CC situations more reliably. He fits naturally into any dive composition and performs well even in standard poke and brawl setups.

Deadpool (Tankpool)

Tankpool has received multiple nerfs but remains one of the most disruptive and survivable Vanguards in the game. His ultimate charges quickly and forces the enemy team into a 5v6 scenario when used correctly on a key target. He is also one of the most versatile heroes to master, offering multiple playstyle options across his different forms.

Phoenix

Phoenix is among the best hit-scan Duelists available and excels at both aggressive flanking and consistent damage from range. Her invulnerability ability functions as a get-out-of-jail card, and her ultimate can delete low-health heroes when combined with a body shot. She has no bad matchups and can be slotted into any composition without adjustment.

Elsa Bloodstone

Elsa Bloodstone has received several nerfs over multiple seasons but continues to be a top-tier poke Duelist with strong survivability and a high-impact ultimate. Her dash recharges quickly and allows her to survive encounters that would eliminate most other Duelists. She is frequently banned in high-level play and remains one of the safest Duelist picks when available.

Psylocke

Psylocke is one of the most dominant dive Duelists in the game and a consistent ban target at every level of play. When damage-boosted by Mantis, her kill thresholds increase dramatically and she can eliminate most heroes in a single rotation. She has one of the highest skill ceilings in the game, but even moderate investment into her mechanics produces strong results.

Jeff the Land Shark

Jeff the Land Shark is one of the most impactful Strategists in the game, offering consistent healing at range, strong anti-dive survivability, and a game-changing ultimate that removes key targets from the map. He builds ultimate faster than almost any other support and enables dive compositions at a level few other Strategists can match. He is especially powerful when paired with Venom and Tankpool through their shared team-ups.

Loki

Loki is one of the most reliable Strategists in the game and remains consistent across every meta shift. His ability to copy enemy ultimates, combined with strong crystal placement damage, gives him a unique kit that rewards smart positioning over raw mechanics. He is especially powerful alongside Gambit and in triple Strategist compositions.

Invisible Woman

Invisible Woman is a dominant Strategist with outstanding utility in both protecting her team and disrupting enemy dive attempts. Her push and pull abilities can shut down multiple heroes simultaneously, and her guardian shields provide constant pressure that is difficult to play around. She is a natural first pick when Gambit is unavailable.

Mantis

Mantis is the cornerstone of triple Strategist compositions and dramatically increases the kill potential of dive heroes through her damage boost ability. Every triple support composition that includes Mantis is significantly stronger than one that does not, and she is the one support that the entire strategy is built around. Players looking to win more games through triple support should always start their lineup with Mantis.

Cloak & Dagger

Cloak and Dagger took a nerf to their ultimate duration but remain one of the strongest Strategists available. Their protective bubble has solid uptime and makes the backline extremely difficult to dive. Their survivability, auto-aim healing, and peel potential keep them at the top of the Strategist tier list in most situations, particularly in front-to-back compositions.

White Fox

White Fox is a well-rounded Strategist who both enables and counters dive, making her effective regardless of what the enemy team is running. Her melee Fox Form allows her to win one-on-one fights against most heroes, and her ultimate can dive directly into the enemy backline to eliminate their Strategists. She performs at the highest level and is especially powerful in dive compositions where she can play aggressively off-angle.

S Tier Tip

If Gambit, Daredevil, or Tankpool are open in the pick phase, they should nearly always be selected. These three heroes are the most commonly banned in competitive play for good reason, and their absence from the ban pool is a significant advantage worth exploiting.

A Tier Heroes

A Tier heroes are strong, reliable picks that perform well at every level of play. Many of these heroes sit just below the ban-worthy threshold, meaning they are frequently available and offer consistent value across different compositions and game modes.

Captain America

Captain America is one of the strongest dive Vanguards in the game when played by someone who understands his kit. His ultimate creates immediate pressure for the entire team and his survivability allows him to create sustained space in the enemy backline. At the highest levels of play, a skilled Captain America functions as a Duelist, Strategist, and Vanguard simultaneously.

Doctor Strange

Doctor Strange is one of the most versatile Vanguards in the game, providing a portal ability that no other hero can replicate. His portal can save teammates from overtime losses, enable aggressive flanks, and completely change the positioning dynamic of a fight. He is even stronger when paired with Invisible Woman through their team-up combination.

Star-Lord

Star-Lord is one of the most consistent Duelists available and is rarely banned, making him a reliable fallback when higher-priority picks are unavailable. He works in both dive and poke compositions and his ultimate either eliminates a key target or forces out an enemy support ultimate. He is an especially strong pairing with Gambit when that combination is available.

Groot

Groot is among the best Vanguards in the game for generating ultimate charge for allies while warping entire games around his wall placement. He is one of the few Vanguards who is legitimately a threat rather than just a frontline presence, creating isolations and choke point control that opponents must actively answer. He is particularly strong in triple Strategist compositions and on payload maps.

Thor

Thor is a high-impact Vanguard who excels at creating pressure and peeling dive heroes off allied Strategists. His Awakening Form provides consistent damage and space-making that is difficult to ignore, and his ability to counter heroes like Venom makes him a strong pick in the current meta. He has been a fixture in competitive play and remains one of the more well-rounded Vanguard options available.

Magneto

Magneto is a defensive Vanguard who excels at protecting teammates from high-impact ultimates without requiring his Strategists to burn their own abilities. His self-shield, knockback, and AoE damage make him a strong solo tank pick, and his ability to save flanked allies from dangerous situations gives him a unique support-adjacent role. He is one of the strongest Vanguards in lower-skill lobbies where his utility is often underestimated.

Namor

Namor is a consistently underrated Duelist who performs well across all modes and is especially dominant in Domination. His turrets apply continuous pressure from advantageous positions, his whale ability provides strong setup potential, and his blessings give him enough survivability to stay relevant through extended fights. He pairs exceptionally well with Hela and is among the top Duelist options regardless of meta.

Moon Knight

Moon Knight builds ultimate charge faster than almost any other Duelist and dominates compositions that lack mobility. He is a natural counter to bunker and triple tank setups, and pairs exceptionally well with Groot on choke-heavy maps. He is best used as a pocket pick against specific compositions rather than defaulted to every game, but in the right matchup he is genuinely oppressive.

Hela

Hela is a reliable poke Duelist who is typically the third-choice hit-scan pick after Elsa Bloodstone and Phoenix are unavailable. Her strong mobility, solid ultimate damage, and good survivability keep her relevant even in a meta where other poke options are more dominant. She performs well alongside Namor through their shared team-up and is always worth considering as a flex pick.

The Punisher

The Punisher is a strong team-play Duelist who contributes constant rifle pressure that enables team kills and acts as a win condition when his ultimate is combined with Invisible Woman. He struggles to solo carry and requires a frontline to operate effectively, but when slotted into a coordinated composition he brings consistent value that scales well with team synergy. He is best played as the DPS who enables the win condition rather than the one creating it.

Wolverine

Wolverine is one of the best Duelists in coordinated play, capable of grabbing tank heroes into his team and generating consistently free kills on targets that fail to respect him. His ultimate can eliminate tanks and supports alike and is considered one of the top two DPS ultimates in the game. His value increases significantly when Invisible Woman is banned or unavailable, as she is one of the few supports with the tools to deal with him.

Rogue

Rogue with the Gambit team-up active is one of the most lethal Vanguards in the game, dealing enough damage to eliminate tanks and supports while also healing allies in the process. Without the team-up, her effectiveness drops significantly and she requires specific compositions to justify. Play Rogue whenever Gambit is available and build around that combination for maximum results.

Hulk (Bruce Banner)

Hulk is a high-ceiling dive Vanguard who can generate enormous advantages through his jump, damage output, and one of the strongest point-locking ultimates in the game. He requires significant resources from his team in terms of healing and support, but players who leverage his toolkit effectively can carry matches at any rank. His ceiling remains extremely high, but less experienced players will find him more difficult to get value from compared to other top Vanguards.

Ultron

Ultron has emerged as a strong Strategist in triple support compositions, offering damage amplification and offensive capabilities that offset the lower DPS of a three-support lineup. He is best paired with Mantis to create a composition that covers both damage and sustained healing. He requires triple support to be at his best and is outclassed in standard two-support setups.

The Thing

The Thing is a disruptive Vanguard whose ability to stun, pull, and ground enemies makes him a persistent threat that opponents cannot simply ignore. He plays well alongside dive compositions as a frontline brawler who baits cooldowns for his team, and he can punish tanks and supports who fail to respect his presence. He is one of the more underrated Vanguard picks and a strong addition to most rosters.

Emma Frost

Emma Frost is a frontline Vanguard who can lock down entire enemy teams through her Diamond Form grab and sustained brawling presence. She is a reliable anchor in the current meta and pairs well with a range of Duelists who benefit from the isolated targets she creates. She does not have the top-tier mobility of Venom or Captain America, but her contributions in coordinated setups are consistent and meaningful.

Spider-Man

Spider-Man has one of the highest skill ceilings in the game and has become increasingly impactful as the meta shifted toward dive. He thrives in mobility-heavy compositions where other divers bait out cooldowns before he engages, and his ability to survive engagements and return to fights gives him effective uptime that most Duelists cannot match. He is a strong pick for dedicated players and excels in the current dive-forward meta.

Winter Soldier

Winter Soldier received damage buffs that now allow him to eliminate most 275-health heroes with a single headshot during his ultimate, making him a serious threat in sustained fights. He fills a unique niche as an anti-dive Duelist with strong burst damage and works best behind a frontline that gives him room to operate. He is a strong pickup for players looking for a less mechanically demanding Duelist who still contributes consistent pressure.

B Tier Heroes

B Tier heroes are solid picks that can contribute meaningfully in most games but require more favorable conditions, mechanical investment, or team coordination to reach their ceiling. These heroes are viable choices and can be effective in the right player’s hands.

Angela

Angela is a mobile Vanguard with strong displacement potential on maps with environmental hazards like edges and stairs. She requires team coordination to maximize her value and struggles to make an impact as a solo tank, but skilled Angela players can create significant pressure through smart positioning and ability timing.

Luna Snow

Luna Snow functions more effectively as a high-damage flanking Duelist than as a traditional Strategist in the current meta. Players who use her freeze ability to secure picks and pressure the enemy backline get significantly more value than those who play her as a standard healer. Her ultimate remains clutch in team fights, though the CC changes have reduced the reliability of her freeze on mobility-heavy targets like Venom.

Adam Warlock

Adam Warlock is a niche Strategist who is primarily played in triple support compositions alongside Loki for double resurrection potential. His recent buffs, including flight and improved healing output, have improved his consistency, but other Strategists outperform him in most situations. He is a viable pick on specific maps where the resurrection mechanic can swing consecutive team fights.

Rocket Raccoon

Rocket Raccoon is extremely easy to generate value on due to his accessible healing, long-range support beam, and resurrection beacon, making him one of the best Strategists for less experienced players. In higher-level play, aggressive dive heroes can chase him down effectively, limiting his impact. He is a strong carry-enabler in lower ranks and a situational defensive pick at higher levels.

Storm

Storm received multiple damage buffs that improved her consistency, but she remains a situational Duelist susceptible to dive and hit-scan heroes at range. She excels at opening choke points and countering Groot walls, and pairs particularly well with Punisher against grouped compositions. She is best played by dedicated one-trick players rather than as a flex pick.

Deadpool (DPS)

DPS Deadpool comes online with four or more upgrade levels and can deal significant burst damage with strong survivability once his kit is scaled. The most effective approach is to begin the match as Support Deadpool to maintain team presence early, then transition to DPS Deadpool once sufficient levels are accumulated. He provides the Jeff the Land Shark team-up alongside Venom, making him a strong choice in dedicated dive compositions even when Tankpool is banned.

Blade

Blade is a pressure-oriented Duelist who builds stacks through consistent damage and becomes increasingly dangerous as fights extend. He plays well in dive and brawl compositions and is genuinely hard to kill, but his lack of burst damage means he cannot independently create picks the way other top Duelists can. He is a solid pick for players who enjoy a sustained-pressure playstyle but requires a team that can follow up on the windows he creates.

Black Cat

Black Cat is a dive Duelist with one of the highest skill ceilings in the game and significant untapped potential as the player base develops her mechanics. She provides wall hacks for her team, a teleport that passes through choke points, and a grounded effect with no cooldown, making her a uniquely utility-focused diver. Her current placement reflects early adoption curves rather than her true ceiling, and dedicated players are already producing strong results with her.

Magik

Magik is a flexible Duelist who can brawl, dive, and win one-on-one matchups against supports when played properly. She has tools to deal with most targets and benefits significantly from her Doctor Strange team-up. She is held back by some hard counter matchups and a lack of the burst damage that would push her into the top tier, but she is a solid all-around pick for players who have invested time in her kit.

Iron Fist

Iron Fist is a persistent pressure Duelist who can apply relentless engagement to enemy backlines without taking the fatal risks that harder divers face. Rather than going in for the kill, he creates pressure that forces supports to abandon their frontline and baits cooldowns that his dive teammates can capitalize on. Skilled Iron Fist players accumulate low death counts and consistent fight presence that is easy to underestimate on a scoreboard.

C Tier Heroes

C Tier heroes have meaningful weaknesses that limit their consistency in most match conditions. These heroes can still win games in the hands of a dedicated player but generally require more from their team or specific enemy compositions to perform at the same level as higher-tier picks.

Squirrel Girl

Squirrel Girl provides AoE point pressure through her bouncing projectiles and can output strong sustained damage against bunker and triple tank compositions. In most other situations, she becomes a target for divers and higher-mobility DPS who can eliminate her before she generates value. She is a niche situational pick against specific compositions but is not a reliable general-purpose choice.

Human Torch

Human Torch received changes that removed much of his movement tech while adding new uptime mechanics, resulting in a character with higher ability uptime but lower survivability and skill expression than before. He can still be effective in specific compositions with triple support backing, particularly alongside Ultron and Mantis. He is close to breaking into higher tiers with further buffs, but currently sits at the top of C Tier.

Deadpool (Heal Pool)

Support Deadpool offers burst healing potential and benefits from a cooldown-based ultimate rather than a charge-based one, meaning his ultimate recovers even during downtime. He is genuinely difficult to play optimally, requiring coordination with teammates to get maximum value from his Jackpot ability. His best use case is as a transitional pick who opens the match as a support and converts to DPS Deadpool once upgrade levels are secured.

Black Panther

Black Panther is a one-dimensional diver who struggles when opponents know he is in the lobby and adjust their composition accordingly. Unlike other dive heroes who have tools to play through their hard counters, Black Panther has no fallback when his primary engage path is shut down. He can find success when significantly outskilling opponents, but his lack of flexibility limits his viability in coordinated play.

Mr. Fantastic

Mr. Fantastic is a more capable Duelist than his placement suggests, providing constant disruptive pressure, grounding effects, and survivability that opponents cannot simply ignore. He is an especially good pick for lower-rank lobbies where his non-stop brawling presence overwhelms less coordinated opponents. He lacks the burst damage to be a reliable solo carry, but in the right composition he contributes meaningful disruption that opens opportunities for his team.

Black Widow

Black Widow requires exceptional aim to find value and can be completely removed from a fight by a single dive hero. She has extreme skill expression at the highest levels and is genuinely dangerous when fully mastered, but even skilled players find that their effort would be better rewarded on other Duelists. She remains difficult to balance due to the gulf between her floor and ceiling performance.

Penny Parker

Penny Parker is a map-dependent Vanguard whose spider nest and web traps can lock down defensive positions and deny contested areas on specific maps. On certain first-point defense scenarios she can be genuinely dominant, particularly on maps with tight corridors and choke points. Outside of those specific use cases, her inability to contribute effectively in open fights and on attack rounds makes her a liability as a Vanguard slot.

D Tier Heroes

D Tier heroes struggle to contribute at a level that justifies their slot in most match conditions. These heroes have fundamental issues with their kits that limit their effectiveness regardless of player skill, and most have superior alternatives in their role that should be prioritized instead.

Iron Man

Iron Man is a slow, large-hitbox Duelist whose strengths in lower-rank lobbies disappear almost entirely in higher-level play. His ultimate is highly counterable, his movement is predictable, and his glass cannon playstyle is punished heavily by the aggressive dive compositions that dominate the current meta. He needs significant rework-level changes to compete with the current Duelist options.

Hawkeye

Hawkeye is in his worst state in the history of Marvel Rivals following his health reduction to 250 HP. He was already one of the most dive-vulnerable Duelists in the game and this change has made him a free pick for any diver in the lobby. He can still function in front-to-back compositions on specific maps, but requires exceptional aim to find any value and even then is outclassed by most alternatives.

Scarlet Witch

Scarlet Witch is an auto-aim Duelist who can get value in lower-rank lobbies where her homing projectiles and phase ability are harder to play around. As ranks increase, her value is quickly capped and her matchups begin flipping unfavorably, with divers ignoring her and hit-scan heroes eliminating her before she can respond. She has a hard ceiling in competitive ranked play and struggles to justify her slot against most coordinated opponents.

D Tier Note

Iron Man and Scarlet Witch are considered by many analysts to need full kit reworks rather than simple balance adjustments. Hawkeye’s current state reflects a health nerf that has pushed him below the viable threshold at most ranks. If any of these heroes appear in a lineup, the team should expect limited contribution from that slot regardless of individual player performance.
