How to Get the Subaru BRZ Forza Edition in Forza Horizon 6 – Best Offroad Car in FH6

The Subaru BRZ Forza Edition in Forza Horizon 6 is an Aftermarket Car that spawns at two locations in the Alpine region, just northeast of Sotoyama Scramble near Snow Forest Cross. It costs 450,000 Credits to purchase and unlocks the moment you finish the prologue. The car is one of the strongest off-road and cross-country picks in the game and is widely considered a meta pick for the Festive Playlist Speed Trap.

This guide covers exactly where to drive, how to handle the random Aftermarket spawn system, what the car costs, and how to build it for rally races and PR Stunts. The unlock method is listed first, with the spawn mechanics and performance details explained afterward.

Why This Car Matters

The BRZ Forza Edition is built as a lifted monster-truck-style off-roader. It is one of the best cars in Forza Horizon 6 for cross-country racing, rally events, and Speed Trap PR Stunts, but it is outclassed by lighter cars on tarmac circuits.

How to Unlock the Subaru BRZ Forza Edition

The BRZ Forza Edition is sold at two Aftermarket Car locations sitting close together at the top of the map. The slot rotates between several different cars, so it may take a few attempts before the BRZ appears. Once it does, the car costs 450,000 Credits. Most probably among the best Rally cars available, especially in later stages of the Horizon events based in the snowy biome – its large wheels make offroading less impactful on speed, perfect for rally races and offroad speed traps

Step-by-Step Unlock

1

Travel to the Alpine Region

Open the world map and head to the top of Japan, into the snowy Alpine region. Fast travel as close as you can to Snow Forest Cross, then drive northeast of Sotoyama Scramble. The two Aftermarket spots sit near the ski resort buildings.

The Subaru can spawn in one of the two aftermarket locations in the alpine region of the map
2

Check Both Aftermarket Spots

The BRZ Forza Edition can spawn at either of the two nearby Aftermarket locations. Drive between them and look for the Aftermarket Car for Sale icon. If the BRZ is parked, interact with it and purchase it for 450,000 Credits.

We recommend spawning in the middle of both, and checking on the map to see if the Subaru BRZ appears, as it only tells you what is currently there if you’re within distance – saves time traveling between points to check
3

Re-Roll if It Is Not There

Common spawns at these locations include other off-road builds and regional cars. If the BRZ is not parked at either spot, you will need to re-roll the spawn using one of the methods below.

Other cars aren’t awful, usually tuned better than stock for offroading, though they are relatively cheap, ranging from 20,000 to 100,000 Credits, so buying them is a viable strategy to up the chances of the Subaru BRZ Aftermarket spawning

Re-Rolling the Aftermarket Spawn

The Aftermarket Car parked at each location changes over time, with player actions, or upon a game restart. There are two reliable ways to force a re-roll if the BRZ has not appeared yet.

Method 1: Restart the Game

The fastest re-roll method is to fully close Forza Horizon 6, then reload your save. Fast travel back to the Alpine Aftermarket spots and check both slots again. This re-rolls the spawn instantly without spending any Credits. Reloading usually takes 1 to 2 minutes to return to the same area.

Simply fast travelling away and back also works sometimes, but a hard restart is the most consistent option. Expect to repeat this a few times before the BRZ shows up.

Method 2: Buy Out the Current Car

Purchasing the car currently parked in the slot removes it from rotation, and a new vehicle will eventually take its place. This is faster than waiting for a natural rotation, but it is expensive if the spawned car is itself a high-value vehicle.

Restarting is usually the better option for budget runs. Buying out the slot is only worth it when the parked car is also something you wanted, or when the cheaper regional cars are blocking the spawn.

Patience Required

Some players find the BRZ on the first try, while others need five or more re-rolls. The spawn is genuinely random, so be prepared to repeat the restart cycle several times before the right car appears.

Cost and Performance at a Glance

Value
Purchase Price 450,000 CR
Bone Stock Class A 700
Bone Stock Horsepower 658 hp
Bone Stock Torque 659 ft-lb
Weight 4,000 lb
Power-to-Weight 0.16 hp/lb
Drivetrain All-Wheel Drive
Stock Tires Off-Road

The car enters your garage as an A-class vehicle at A 700, sitting at the very top of A class. With an engine swap it moves into S1, and with full racing slicks it can push up into R class. Even bone stock, the BRZ is competitive on cross-country races and PR Stunts.

Best Builds for the BRZ Forza Edition

The BRZ Forza Edition has more build flexibility than most Forza Edition cars because of the wide range of engine swaps and tire compounds available. The setup you choose should match the type of event you plan to grind.

Stock Off-Road Rally Build

Leave the stock engine in place and swap the off-road tires for rally tires. This keeps the 658 hp powerplant manageable on dirt while improving grip on mixed surfaces. Anti-lag is available through the twin-turbo upgrade and helps low-end response on rally stages.

This setup is the sweet spot for cross-country races and dirt circuits in the Alpine and forest regions.

7.2L V8 Engine Swap

The BRZ has four engine swap options available at Car Master. The 7.2L V8 pushes the car up into S1 class and delivers enough straight-line punch to dominate Speed Traps. You can also twin turbo or supercharge this engine for added top end.

The trade-off is added weight and a livelier rear end, so pair the V8 with drag tires for raw Speed Trap runs or with rally tires for off-road events where the extra horsepower still helps.

Tire Compound Choices

Best Use
Off-Road (Stock) Mixed cross-country and dirt
Rally Dirt and gravel rally stages
Drift Drift Zones (sub-optimal without drift suspension)
Drag Festival Kilometer Drag Meet
Slick Racing Tarmac PR Stunts and Speed Traps
Snow Alpine snow races

Rally tires are the best all-around pick. Slick racing tires are the right call only when you are setting Speed Trap times on paved sections.

Switch to Rear-Wheel Drive for Drift

The BRZ is locked to all-wheel drive bone stock, but you can convert it to rear-wheel drive in Car Master. This is the only realistic way to drift it, though the suspension is not set up for big angles.

Why It Dominates Cross-Country and Speed Traps

The BRZ Forza Edition is built like a monster truck on a Subaru chassis. The suspension is fully lifted, the body sits high above big-profile tires, and the in-game description states the car is set up specifically for cross-country races. That ride height means uneven terrain barely registers under the wheels, which is why the car stays fast over rough rally stages while most other cars lose speed as they bounce around.

Best for Off-Road and Rally

The BRZ is one of the strongest rally cars in Forza Horizon 6. Its weight, ground clearance, and all-wheel drive layout shrug off terrain that would slow lighter cars to a crawl. For cross-country events, dirt circuits, and the Discover Japan progression that involves off-road challenges, the BRZ is a top-tier pick.

Festive Playlist Speed Trap

The car is a community-favorite pick for the Festive Playlist Speed Trap challenge. The engine swap range, ride-height stability over jumps and rough sections, and class flexibility between A and R make it adaptable to most Speed Trap layouts featured in the playlist.

When to Use Something Else

For tight circuit racing, mountain passes, and most road races, the BRZ is outclassed by lighter, lower cars like the 1994 Mazda MX-5 Forza Edition. The lifted suspension causes the car to lean heavily under cornering, lifting the inside wheels and breaking grip on hard turns. Use the BRZ for off-road events and Speed Traps, not for technical tarmac.

What Aftermarket Cars Are

Aftermarket Cars are vehicles sold at dedicated map locations across Japan. They can appear as stock copies or pre-modified with custom builds tailored to specific playstyles such as Road Racing, Drifting, Off-Road, or Drag. The BRZ Forza Edition falls into the Off-Road category and comes pre-fitted with OZ wheels, light bars, a redesigned front bumper, and a fully lifted suspension package.

Some Aftermarket Cars are Forza Edition vehicles, which carry Credit or XP boosters built into the car itself. The BRZ is one of these, making it a cheap and reliable way to add a Forza Edition vehicle to your garage without grinding Wheelspins.

How the Spawn System Works

The car displayed at any Aftermarket location is not permanent. The slot rotates after enough time has passed, or once the current car has been purchased. The system pulls from a rotating pool of regional cars, so the Alpine spots will sometimes show other off-road builds in place of the BRZ.

Restarting the game also re-rolls the spawn, which is why a full game restart is the fastest unofficial way to chase a specific Aftermarket car. Every spawn is genuinely random, so persistence is the only guaranteed strategy.
