Mr Savage is finally getting his own Icon skin in Fortnite – a huge milestone for one of the game’s most iconic players. Over 6 years ago, he was known as “the purple skull trooper” who blew up for being insanely good with unusually high sensitivity and unique keybinds. After recently qualifying for Grand Finals, let’s look at his most up-to-date settings from Chapter 6.
In this guide, we will cover all of Mr. Savage’s settings for Fortnite.
Display Settings
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Windowed Mode | Windowed Full Screen |
| Resolution | 1920 x 1080 |
| VSync | Off |
| FPS Limit | 360 FPS / Unlimited |
| Brightness | 100% |
| Colorblind Mode | Tritanope |
| Colorblind Strength | 8 |
Note on FPS Limit: Previously set to 500 FPS with his new monitor, but lowered to 360 FPS to be more realistic for potential LAN events.
Note on Colorblind Mode: Many competitive players use colorblind settings (even if they’re not colorblind) because Tritanope mode makes certain colors pop more, improving visibility of loot, enemies, and the storm. The strength of 8 provides noticeable color changes without being too extreme.
Mouse Settings
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Mouse DPI | 800 |
| X-Axis Sensitivity | 9.1% |
| Y-Axis Sensitivity | 9.1% |
| Targeting Sensitivity | 49% |
| Scope Sensitivity | 49% |
| Building Sensitivity | Default (100%) |
| Editing Sensitivity | Default (100%) |
| Polling Rate | 1,000 Hz |
eDPI: 72.8 (medium on the higher end)
What is eDPI? eDPI (effective DPI) is calculated by multiplying your DPI by your in-game sensitivity. It’s a universal way to compare sensitivities across different games and settings. MrSavage’s 72.8 eDPI is considered medium-high for Fortnite pros.
Note on Polling Rate: Even though the mouse supports up to 4,000Hz, he keeps it at 1,000Hz to avoid inconsistencies like lag spikes that can come with higher polling rates.
Custom Crosshair
MrSavage is sponsored by Crosshair X, a paid application on the Epic Games Store that allows custom crosshair customization. If you want a custom crosshair without spending money, they have a free alternative application also on the Epic Games Store.

| Meshes | High |
Advanced Graphics
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Show FPS | On |
| Nvidia Reflex Low Latency | On |
| Visualized Sound Effects | On |
| Report Performance Stats | Disabled |
Performance Mode massively increases visibility while boosting FPS – virtually every pro uses it.
Meshes on High: MrSavage is one of the few pros that uses High over Low. He prefers the way it looks as you get those little cracks in the builds with High over Low. This is a visual preference that helps him see through builds better during fights.
Textures on Medium: While most pros use Low, MrSavage prefers Medium for visual preference.
View Distance on Far: Allows seeing items and builds from a much longer range without much FPS difference. Note that player visibility is capped at around 280m regardless of view distance setting.
Temporal Super Resolution on Recommended: This is an upscaling technology that maintains visual quality while improving performance. “Recommended” provides the best balance.
Audio Settings
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Sound Effects | 79% |
| Master Volume | 50% |
| Music | Off |
| Voice Chat | 60% |
| Sound Quality | High |
| 3D Headphones | Off |
| Visualized Sound Effects | On |
Sound Quality on High: While many pros use Low for performance, MrSavage prefers High for better audio clarity and footstep detail.
3D Headphones Off: Most competitive players turn this off because it can muddy directional audio. Standard stereo provides clearer positional awareness.
Visualized Sound Effects On: This displays visual indicators (circles on your HUD) showing the direction of footsteps, gunshots, vehicles, and other sounds. Essential for competitive play as it provides information even when audio is unclear or when sounds overlap.
Keybinds
Movement
| Action | Keybind |
|---|---|
| Forward | W |
| Backward | S |
| Left | A |
| Right | D |
| Jump | Spacebar |
| Crouch | Left Control |
| Sprint | Caps Lock |
Building
| Action | Keybind |
|---|---|
| Wall | F |
| Floor | G |
| Stairs | T |
| Roof | Left Shift |
| Trap | Mouse Button 4 |
| Edit | R |
| Reset Edit | Scroll Wheel Down |
| Place Building | Left Click |
| Rotate Building | Mouse Button 5 & Y |
| Change Material | Right Click |
Why Scroll Wheel Down for Reset Edit? This allows for instant edit resets without having to press a button twice. You can quickly scroll down to reset any edit mistake, which is crucial for fast-paced build fights.
Combat & Loadout
| Action | Keybind |
|---|---|
| Fire | Left Click |
| Target/ADS | Right Click |
| Reload | R |
| Harvesting Tool | 1 |
| Weapon Slot 2 | 2 |
| Weapon Slot 3 | 3 |
| Weapon Slot 4 | 4 |
| Weapon Slot 5 | 5 |
| Weapon Slot 6 | 6 |
| Use/Interact | E |
| Pickup | Scroll Wheel Up |
Why Scroll Wheel Up for Pickup? This enables rapid looting by continuously scrolling up when opening chests or going through loot. Much faster than repeatedly pressing a button, especially important at game start.
Utility
| Action | Keybind |
|---|---|
| Map | Tab |
| Inventory | Left Alt (Hold) |
| Mark Enemy | Middle Mouse Button |
| Emote | N |
Game Settings
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Disable Pre-Edits | Off |
| Confirm Edit on Release | On |
| Turbo Building | On |
| Auto-Open Doors | On |
Confirm Edit on Release helps speed up editing significantly. Many other pros like Peterbot use this as it reduces input errors during fast edits and cuts out one entire step when editing. Instead of pressing your edit key twice (once to confirm), the edit confirms automatically when you release the key.
Movement Settings
Custom Diagonals:
- Forward Diagonal: 64
- Strafe: 90
- Backward Diagonal: 122
What are Custom Diagonals? These settings adjust your movement speed when moving diagonally (like pressing W+A or W+D). Standard diagonal movement is slightly faster than moving in a single direction. These custom values fine-tune your diagonal speeds for more consistent movement during building and fights. Lower numbers mean slower diagonal movement, closer to single-direction speed.
Game UI Settings
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| HUD Scale | 75% |
| Damage Numbers | Cumulative (On Hit Only) |
| Damage Number Scale | 125% (Max) |
| Reticle | On |
| Show Spectator Count | On |
HUD Scale at 75%: This is larger than many pros use, providing better visibility of UI elements during intense fights without taking up too much screen space.
Damage Numbers – Cumulative (On Hit Only): Instead of showing individual damage numbers for each pellet or tick, this adds them up and shows one total number. Makes it much easier to track total damage dealt in a fight. “On Hit Only” means damage numbers only appear when you successfully hit someone.
Damage Number Scale at Max (125%): Makes the damage numbers larger and easier to see during fights.
Optimization Settings
Performance Settings
- Replays: All disabled
- Energy Saving: All disabled
- Anonymous Mode: Enabled
Competitive Advantages
- Scroll Wheel Pickup: Enables rapid looting at game start
- Scroll Wheel Reset: Instant edit resets for faster builds
- Confirm Edit on Release: Faster editing workflow
