9 Fast and Easy FFXIV Mounts You Can Get Without endgame content (2026 Guide)

Mount collecting remains one of the most popular long-term goals in Final Fantasy XIV, but not every player has the time or desire to grind through high-end raids or complex content. Fortunately, the game offers a wide range of mounts that are both visually appealing and accessible, requiring minimal time investment. Whether acquired through vendors, daily activities, or solo-friendly challenges, these mounts can be earned relatively quickly. This guide highlights nine efficient options for players looking to expand their mount collection in 2025 without engaging in endgame raiding.

In this list, we will cover how to obtain 9 Mounts quickly and easily, without requiring any non-endgame content.

Each section covers up to four mounts through a single method, which is explained in sufficient detail for players to obtain the mounts shown.

Itinerant Moogle Mounts

Rewards 4 mounts

In the three FFXIV starting major cities, there is an NPC called the Itinerant Moogle, indicated by a Moogle Symbol on the map. They can be found near the Aetheryte in each town.

The Itinerant Moogle is a special vendor that accepts a specific currency called Tomestones of Allegory. Those are earned by completing Dungeons or particular activities, as indicated by the Moogle Icon, which signifies that it is part of the Moogle Treasure Trove event. If players have any in their possession, they can be found in the Inventory.

Using thirty of the Tomestones of Allegory each, players can purchase four different mounts, such as the Dire wolf, Reveling Kamuy, Blissful Kamuy, or the Cavalry Drake, which has a unique fire-breathing animation.

Typically, it does not take long to earn Tomestones of Allegory, as each instance can reward Players with 3 to 7 Tomestones of Allegory for the completion of 1 dungeon, taking up to 20 minutes each. Some players may already have enough Tomestones to buy multiple mounts, as this event isn’t immediately explained to players.

For more information on how much each dungeon rewards Tomestones of Allegory, which changes daily, players can talk to the Itinerant Moogle to consult the Mogpendium (one of the dialog options). This was once a seasonal event, but it has evolved into a permanent one.

Unicorn Mount

Rewards 1 mount

This beautiful Unicorn mount can be gained relatively quickly, as it requires a Conjurer at level 30. When Class quests are done to level 30, a quest can be found near the Conjurer’s Guild, titled ‘Unicorn Power’ by Braya, where the player needs to heal NPCs found in North Shroud.

Note that this is an orange quest, not following the other meta of blue quests, rewarding new mechanics or unlockables.

Achievement Exchange Certificates Mounts

Rewards 3 mounts

Achievements are attained naturally as players play Final Fantasy 14, where players gain Achievement points for leveling, defeating enemies, completing dungeons, collecting mounts, crafting, doing PvP, or most activities players can do in the game.

Jonathas <Master of the Rolls> is an NPC found in Apkallu Falls of New Gridania, near the Lancer’s Guild, and can be found by a trophy icon on the map. He converts Achievement Points into Achievement Certificates. Where each Achievement Point requires 50 Achievement Points. This is done automatically and doesn’t impact any other systems in FFXIV.

Three mounts can be unlocked this way, one of the mounts being the Behemoth, unlocked by buying the Behemoth Warhorn for 6 Achievement Certificates.

The Second mount, the Magitek Death Claw, can be unlocked by buying the Magitek Death Claw Identification Key for 6 Achievement Certificates.

Finally, Players can obtain the third mount, the Ahriman, unlocked by buying the Voidal Resonator for 6 Achievement Certificates.

PVP Vendor Mounts

Rewards 1 mount

Players can optionally choose to take part in PVP, as long as they have at least 1 Class Job. This is done by getting a Class Quest to level 30 and equipping a Job Stone.

Based on my experience, PvP is usually active only on the Duty Roulette page, which can be accessed through the Duty Finder and is most active daily around reset times. Players have the opportunity to earn between 500 and 1,500 Wolf Marks in a single game of Frontline, depending on their final position in this 72-player PvP game mode, which takes up to 15 minutes to complete. To see how many Wolf Marks your character currently has, head over to the Currency Tab, which can be accessed using Ctrl C.

Once 20,000 Wolf Marks are gained, players can head over to the PvP Vendors, found in the Wolves’ Den Pier of Limsa Lominsa, inside the main building. The Vendor labelled ‘Mark Quartermaster <Wolf Mark Exchange>’, ‘Wolf Marks (Other)’, then ‘Miscellaneous’. This is where the Magitek Sky Armor Identification Key can be brought, unlocking the Magitek Sky Armor Mount.

Conclusion

Once all the mounts above are unlocked, this gives the player a large variety of mounts to choose from, suiting whatever aesthetic they decide to pursue. To own 10 mounts is an incredible feat to be proud of in the FFXIV community; however, if more mounts are what you desire, here are 10 more mounts you can buy for cheap from the Marketboard.

Most of the mounts listed will take at most a few hours to attain and are considered easy to get, as they’re dependent on guaranteed relatively kind mechanics that some players may have already made progress towards without realising.

Thomas has been writing game guides for over a year, covering whatever he's currently sunk into. He doesn't write about anything he hasn't actually played, which usually isn't a problem since he plays too much of everything anyway. Rocket League ate enough of his life to get him to Grand Champion, and he's got several max-level, fully geared characters sitting in World of Warcraft from various binges over the years. Recent obsessions include ARC Raiders, Battlefield, For Honor, and Rainbow Six Siege, with plenty of others in rotation. He's also worked behind the scenes for a well-known gaming creator on video production and editorial pieces, so the guides here are shaped as much by that side of the industry as by the hours logged in-game. Every tip, build, and location in his guides comes from his own playthroughs. If he hasn't tested it, it doesn't get published.
