How To Complete Missions BF6

Battlefield Redsec How To Do Missions – Battle Royale Missions Guide

Missions are one of the best ways to gear up quickly in Battlefield 6: RedSec. Instead of relying solely on scattered loot crates across the map, completing Missions rewards players with high-quality weapons, Strike Packages, Custom Weapon Drops, and valuable Training Path XP. Understanding how the Mission system works gives squads a significant advantage in the early and mid-game.

This guide covers everything players need to know about Missions in RedSec. From accessing the Mission menu to completing each Mission type efficiently, this breakdown will help players maximize their rewards and survive to the final circle. Players will aim to do Redsec Missions as part of Weekly Challenges to gain Battlepass points to progress their Battlepass.

⚔

How to Access Missions

During a Battle Royale game (and at least 30 seconds in): To open the Mission menu, press the Map button. On keyboard, this is the M key. The Mission menu appears on the right side of the screen. Until they are available, you should see a timer on the right side. Once this reaches 0, it should present a selection of 2-3 missions that each take up to a minute.

You will typically have a choice of 2 to 3 missions. To begin, press “Start Mission,” and an orange marker will guide you on what to do. The tasks are generally easy to follow, as they often involve collecting items, standing in a specific location, or defeating enemies, among other objectives.

Missions become available approximately one minute after the match begins. A notification will appear on the screen stating “New Missions Available” when the system activates. After completing a Mission, new options typically appear within 15 to 30 seconds.

Mission Selection

When opening the Mission menu, players can choose from two to three available Missions. Each Mission displays a preview of the rewards before accepting, allowing players to prioritize based on their current needs. Missions can be selected up to 500 meters away, though most will appear within 0 to 300 meters of the player’s position.

Players can choose their mission using Z and C, though the choice should consider whether the mission is close, easy to complete, and what rewards it offers

Missions that are too far away will be greyed out in the menu with an X through them. Players dedicated to completing Missions can realistically complete more than 3 or 4 per match if they prioritize Mission completion over other activities.

⚔

All Mission Types

RedSec features seven main Mission types, each with unique objectives and completion requirements. Some Missions are straightforward, while others involve PvP elements that broadcast the squad’s location to enemies. Understanding each type helps players complete them quickly and safely.

Weapons Cache

Weapons Cache is one of the simplest Missions and is excellent for early-game completion. Players must locate a pair of Bolt Cutters marked on the map, then carry them to a Weapons Cache container. Using the Bolt Cutters on the container opens it and completes the Mission.

Weapon Cache – pick up bolt cutters and open a weapon crate containing many good tier weapons

This Mission consistently provides quality weapons, rocket launchers, Mortar Strikes, and bonus XP from briefcases inside. The straightforward nature makes it a reliable choice when available.

Signal Hack

Signal Hack requires players to align two antennas before hacking a signal at a central location. Each antenna has vertical and horizontal alignment bars that must be adjusted until the arrows line up correctly. The antennas emit red lasers visible from considerable distances, which can attract enemy attention.

The Signal Hack Mission is aiming two beacons at a blue box, then standing near said blue box until it is fully complete.

After aligning both antennas, players must capture a blue box similar to a Domination point. Multiple squad members standing on the point speeds up the capture process. The Assault Class completes objectives faster, making it particularly useful for this Mission.

Decryption

Decryption involves collecting two Beacons and decrypting them while moving. Players must pick up each Beacon and allow it to decrypt, but sprinting or running cancels the decryption progress. The key technique is crouch walking at full speed, which maintains decryption while still allowing movement.

Squad members can split up to collect both Beacons simultaneously, reducing completion time. This Mission frequently rewards Custom Weapon Drops, making it highly valuable when that reward appears in the preview.

Wreckage

Wreckage is a PvP-focused Mission similar to Rush. Players must locate a bomb, carry it to a designated location, and plant it. Once armed, the bomb takes approximately 45 seconds to detonate and produces a very loud noise that alerts nearby enemies.

Enemy squads can attempt to defuse the bomb during this time, requiring the planting team to defend the area. Players do not need to stand directly next to the bomb but must prevent enemies from disarming it. The explosion does not damage the planting team.

Extraction

Extraction requires players to download data from two computer terminals, then deliver the hard drives to an extraction point. Each download takes 10 to 15 seconds and requires staying near the terminal. Squad members can download from both terminals simultaneously to save time.

Downloading from 1 of 2 terminals before delivering them; my teammate is handling the other one. Then we’ll drop them off at the extraction point marked on the map.

After collecting both hard drives, players must reach the yellow smoke marking the extraction point. A drone lands at this location, where both drives must be deposited to complete the Mission.

Evasion

Evasion is a PvP Mission that places the squad on the mini-map periodically while active. Players must destroy three surveillance devices scattered around the Mission area. These devices can be destroyed with melee attacks or gunfire and are not heavily armored.

Speed is essential for this Mission. Squads should split up with each member targeting a different device. Running with a knife equipped is significantly faster than running with a gun, helping players complete the Mission before enemies can respond to their marked position.

Tank Hunter

Tank Hunter spawns an AI-controlled tank that players must destroy. This Mission requires appropriate equipment to complete effectively. Players without rocket launchers or the Engineer Class should avoid accepting this Mission.

Having one or two Engineers on the squad makes Tank Hunter significantly easier. The rewards can be substantial, but the Mission becomes problematic without proper anti-vehicle capabilities.

⚔

Counter Missions

Counter Missions work directly against another squad already attempting a Mission. These Missions are marked with a yellow Counter Mission indicator and inherently involve PvP confrontation. Players should exercise extra caution and coordinate with their squad when accepting Counter Missions.

Interception

Interception is the Counter Mission to Decryption. While an enemy squad attempts to decrypt Beacons, the Interception team must reach and decrypt one of the Beacons first. Successfully decrypting a Beacon before the enemy team causes them to fail their Mission while the intercepting team succeeds.

This Mission guarantees combat since both teams need the same objectives. The closing storm can also cause Mission failure if it reaches the Beacons before either team completes the decryption.

Headhunter

Headhunter functions as a bounty Mission. The game periodically pings an enemy squad’s location, and the Headhunter team has two minutes to eliminate the marked players. Successfully eliminating the targets completes the Mission and provides rewards.

This Mission suits aggressive squads comfortable with seeking out and engaging enemies. Having a Recon Class player helps scout the target area before engaging.

Targeted

Targeted is the opposite of Headhunter. When another squad accepts Headhunter, the target squad receives the Targeted Mission. The hunted team must either survive for two minutes or eliminate the hunting squad to complete the Mission.

Successfully avoiding or defeating the hunters rewards 3000 XP and displays “Threat Avoided” upon completion. This Mission can occur randomly when enemies accept Headhunter bounties.

⚔

Mission Rewards

Completing a Mission causes a reward airdrop to appear somewhere within the Mission area. The contents match the preview shown when selecting the Mission. Rewards vary significantly between Missions and can include weapons, equipment, and powerful tactical options.

Reward Types

Common rewards include upgraded weapons, rocket launchers, Mortar Strikes, and Artillery Strikes. Some Missions offer Custom Weapon Drops, which provide players with their personal loadout weapons, complete with all attachments. This is one of the fastest ways to get a fully kitted weapon early in the match.

Training Path XP is another valuable reward, often providing 1500 XP or more per Mission. This XP levels up the player’s chosen Class during the match, unlocking additional bonuses. Strike Packages and Armor Plates also appear frequently in Mission rewards.

Reward Priority

Early in the match, prioritize Missions offering weapons, ammo, and Custom Weapon Drops. Purple rarity rewards and multiple items per crate provide the best value. High amounts of Training Path XP are also worth pursuing to unlock Class bonuses faster.

Once equipped with solid weapons, shift focus to Missions providing Armor Plates, Upgrade Kits, and Strike Packages. These become increasingly important as the safe zone shrinks and engagements become more frequent.

Be cautious when collecting reward airdrops. If an airdrop lands directly on a player, it results in instant death with no opportunity for revival.

⚔

Battlepass Challenges

The Battlepass system includes weekly challenges related to RedSec Missions. These challenges award Battlepass Points ranging from 3 to 10 points each, helping players progress through the seasonal Battlepass. Some challenges specifically require RedSec completion while others can be progressed in any mode.

RedSec-Specific Challenges

The following weekly challenges require playing RedSec Battle Royale to complete.

ChallengeRequirement

General Challenges

Some Battlepass challenges do not specify a mode and can be progressed within RedSec. These include getting headshot kills, dealing damage with specific weapon types, winning matches, and reviving teammates. Players can efficiently progress multiple challenges simultaneously while playing RedSec.

⚔

Class Recommendations

Certain Classes provide advantages when completing Missions. Building a balanced squad with complementary Classes improves Mission efficiency and survivability during PvP encounters.

Assault

Assault Class completes objectives and respawns faster than other Classes. This makes Assault particularly valuable for capture-style Missions like Signal Hack. The faster objective completion can mean the difference between finishing before enemies arrive or getting caught mid-Mission.

Recon

Recon Class excels at scouting Mission areas before the squad commits. Identifying enemy positions around Mission objectives prevents ambushes and allows for tactical approaches. Recon is especially useful for Counter Missions and PvP-heavy Mission types.

Engineer

Engineer Class is essential for Tank Hunter Missions. Without proper anti-vehicle equipment, destroying the AI tank becomes extremely difficult. Having at least one Engineer ensures the squad can accept Tank Hunter when valuable rewards appear.

⚔

Mission Availability

Missions do not remain available throughout the entire match. As the game progresses and player count decreases, the Mission system eventually disables. Reports suggest this occurs around 10 to 15 minutes into the match or when approximately 40 players remain, though these numbers may vary between matches.

Players should prioritize completing Missions during the early and mid-game phases. Waiting too long risks losing access to the Mission system entirely. Hot-dropping into contested areas may result in fewer Mission opportunities due to extended early fights.

⚔

Tips for Mission Success

Securing a vehicle early makes traveling between Missions significantly faster. The first 10 to 20 seconds of a match should focus on basic looting and positioning before Missions become available. Having basic equipment before starting Missions improves survival chances.

Remember that other players can see squads working on Missions. Even non-PvP Missions can attract attention, such as the visible red lasers from Signal Hack antennas. Completing Missions quickly reduces exposure time.

Running with a knife equipped provides a significant speed boost over running with weapons. Use this when traveling to Mission objectives or escaping after completion. Squad coordination dramatically improves Mission efficiency, especially for objectives that can be split between members.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about RedSec Missions

How do I start a Mission in RedSec?

Press the M key on keyboard or Touchpad on PlayStation to open the Mission menu. Select from the available Missions on the right side of the screen. Missions become available approximately one minute after the match starts.

How many Missions can I complete per match?

Players can complete more than three Missions if they dedicate their efforts to the Mission system. New Missions appear every 15 to 30 seconds after completing one. The limiting factor is Mission availability, which ends in the later stages of the match.

What is a Counter Mission?

Counter Missions work against another squad already attempting a Mission. They are marked with a yellow indicator and guarantee PvP encounters. Examples include Interception (counter to Decryption), Headhunter (bounty hunting), and Targeted (being hunted).

What is the best Mission for early game?

Weapons Cache is one of the best early-game Missions due to its simplicity and reliable rewards. Simply find Bolt Cutters and open the cache. Decryption is also excellent when it offers Custom Weapon Drops, providing loadout weapons with all attachments.

Why can’t I select certain Missions?

Missions beyond 500 meters from the player’s position cannot be selected and appear greyed out with an X. Most available Missions will be within 0 to 300 meters. Move closer to greyed-out Missions to make them selectable.
